If we've learned anything in the past year about Goldin...is that they are great at sending emails. Too many emails, sometimes. The rest of the operation...not so great.

Well you'd better stay away then because they pretty much all do that. It's in their terms of service.

I dont think the seller can even be on their phones…but the auctioneer can do OTF incoming bids from interested buyers.

Actually more like brokers…

If the email is real, I didn't get it either. Maybe it went to people that had live bids in the auctions?

Goldin has a long history of being shady as well.

I can't believe anyone trusts him after he and Don West used to scam left and right on shop at home 20 years ago.

This hobby is full of scum in high profile positions.

That’s not it either. I’ve won items and currently have bids on auction and vault listings and didnt get the email.

How do they spell that out in their TOS? Auctioneers being permitted to bid in an auction is not the same as open authorization to shill bid.

The more expensive the hobby becomes the more scum it attracts.

So much for having cards as a legitimate asset class.

I didn't read the one that was linked but the last one I read said the auctioneer may place bids up to the reserve amount on behalf of the seller.

It looks like nothing new has been listed or sold at auction since 9:00 pm last night.

I believe the main complain is just buyers who consign their stuff, is shilling their own items. But has anyone who has actually worked at or with Probstein get busted for shilling auctions or we just assuming they are?
It took 5 pages...

Comparing PWCC to Ricky is like comparing a street walker to Olivia Culpo. Just different leagues...

No, that is not the case for me. I’ve never bought something and had it shipped there. I literally packed up $500k worth of cards I’ve spent years collecting and sent them to pwcc

It wouldn't constitute shill bidding if the auctioneer discloses that in the item description but this type of reserve auction is still a turn off for some bidders.

PWCC still has not listed my dad's 87/88 Fleer MJ. Consigned for the May monthly auction.

Now I'll have to get on the phone to get that one back too I suppose

I'm guessing your cards made it to the IG video of some social media influencer that was able to literally flip through your cards...up down and around....PWCC deserves this with their history of sticking their head in the sand and allowing that idiot in their vault.

Just another step, after recent numerous steps, by eBay to clean up the sports card market on their site. Now, if only they'd purge non-payments from their sold listings.

Good luck to those that used PWCC for current consignments. Those auctions if
left to run its course should do great especially with the rumor that ebay is telling
people not to pay. LOL

Well, it's not like BODA didn't warn everyone.
