I haven't been to a live auction in a long time but if auction houses are now confounding the two practices, I'd continue to stay away whether online or in person.

Well you'd better stay away then because they pretty much all do that. It's in their terms of service.

I dont think the seller can even be on their phones…but the auctioneer can do OTF incoming bids from interested buyers.

Goldin has a long history of being shady as well.

I can't believe anyone trusts him after he and Don West used to scam left and right on shop at home 20 years ago.

This hobby is full of scum in high profile positions.

That’s not it either. I’ve won items and currently have bids on auction and vault listings and didnt get the email.

How do they spell that out in their TOS? Auctioneers being permitted to bid in an auction is not the same as open authorization to shill bid.

I didn't read the one that was linked but the last one I read said the auctioneer may place bids up to the reserve amount on behalf of the seller.

It wouldn't constitute shill bidding if the auctioneer discloses that in the item description but this type of reserve auction is still a turn off for some bidders.

I'm guessing your cards made it to the IG video of some social media influencer that was able to literally flip through your cards...up down and around....PWCC deserves this with their history of sticking their head in the sand and allowing that idiot in their vault.

Just another step, after recent numerous steps, by eBay to clean up the sports card market on their site. Now, if only they'd purge non-payments from their sold listings.

left to run its course should do great especially with the rumor that ebay is telling
people not to pay. LOL
