Yes a MVP price jump would be a good time, also I want to know if Tatis Jr. gets the shoulder issue addressed this off season, and if there is surgery, if he stays in RF or goes back to SS 2022. I am a long term hold on most RC's but may let a few Dups go too.

now #410 will just be a reminder of all the errors Tatis had, while at shortstop

His Update RD looks to be the better option now, as each day passes

The man is known for his hitting, not his stellar play in the infield

As is every single “hobby good” player. Collect what you like but I’ll stick w/ the actual rookie card (that actually looks different than every other hobby good rookie card) vs an after thought “hitting” insert card.

Just checked in on PSA 10 RC prices (base, chrome, and refractors) and was pretty surprised they are still where they are at. Do we expect a fall or offseason surge or we holding here for awhile? Guy has been a amazing this year with a bad shoulder.

id expect a nice even keel

the people that want one, and are in the hobby now, have one.

when more people hop in, they may see an increase

Not surprised at all. With were the market is, this point in the season, MVP kind of already baked in for the next few months, the reoccurring injury, etc. It doesn't surprise me at all. Plus what TBP said.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't think anything that goes on with the CBA is going to affect the market. Last year, baseball card "offseason" was basically a long weekend after the parade, then everyone was right back in this forum talking and buying. There was no "offseason."

Like I said, probably a minority opinion but I think that we won't see a significant dip at all.

He's actually known for making great plays with his glove, it's his throws to first that have been the problem.

At the same time, he didn't have these issues last year and he's still just 22.

I tend to think he could iron it out over time. Few have his range and athleticism.

Agree completely. Most card prices sore during the hype season. The "imagine how great he will be this season" period. Once games start, its an uphill battle that very few win. But if the CBA takes longer, it will just give us all a bigger window to wonder how great these guys will be vs actually watching them produce or not produce. In my opinion at least.

Nice cards, I don't know what the print run was on 2019 Tek, but I know Topps definitely didn't crank the presses on it. It was pretty hard to get a hold of right after initial release. Out of 2014-2019 Tek I would say 2019 had the lowest print run of the 6 years.

Personally, in Tatis’ case I want him in his Padres uniform, regardless of the BCA 1st prestige. I view it like buying Griffey if he wasn’t in a Mariners uniform in the long term.

I would try to snag a 2019 TC Refractor auto, but wouldn’t go for a wave. Both are great cards, but just my two cents. I think everything Tatis will appreciate nicely over time as long as he stays healthy.
