People also forget that he wasn’t in the country at a very young age, he had a partial rookie season, a season full of injury and the season where he mashed the minors playing on three different levels, then came the shortened season and the hip injury this season, so basically he came up quite fast all things considered.

After last night’s game Luis Robert has played the same amount of games as in his rookie year and the difference is astonishing, 3 homeruns less but 20 doubles which is 12 more than last year. If you look at the hits and averages, these went up big time, was expecting to see some improvement but this is off the charts.

If he somehow continues this kind of improvement into next year we could be looking at an MVP candidate, no?
The lack of press and hype right now is pretty surprising. Coupled with the normal late season pricing malaise, are there bargains out there?

I remember back in April some self proclaimed “Bowman Chrome King” on Facebook was talking all kinds of ish about how bad Robert was going to be and he thought that he would be hitting under .200 by end of May. I bet him $500 and now he is nowhere to be found. He admittedly hadn’t invested in Robert at all, he was just being a douche. Even though I’ll never see the funds I’m glad he was dead wrong.

Haha, I think I know exactly who you’re talking about. Did he happen to start his own grading company? He can still be found in all the Bowman chrome groups.

Problem is, singles can be had now for less than $10 delivered. There’s a ton of them and they’re also in factory sets. It’s really the only notable card in S2 & finding parallels is SO tough.

That said…I think once some of the tidal wave supply dries up, SROBERT2 will start to come around. S2 Robert is somewhat similar to how Topps released Ohtani S2 #700. People pay quite a bit for PSA 10 700’s now that he’s performing at an elite level.

When Robert went down, many people pegged him as someone they would dump when the cards they sent in come back from PSA. Then he started playing out of his mind, so now they are still trying to “dump” supply but with higher prices! It’ll change. Once these hoards of doubles start clearing fences, it’ll be a mad dash.

I love Luis Robert and can't wait until next year to get a full season. There's a big difference between the Ohtani S2 and the Robert S2:

2500 #700 Ohtani's, 10,000 #392 Robert's have GEM'd at PSA 10. Who know how many more #392s are sitting in the bulk sub backlog. Good news is the gem rate has been going down steadily and is now "only" at 40%.

I bet there are TONS of #700 Ohtani's at PSA right now. Especially considering he was getting hot right before PSA shut down.

Also, Ohtani has #US1 (a non-RD RC) that should be considered. LouBob doesn't have that to compete with #392.
