So I understand.... you're saying the Sapphire base variations will be THE card to get long term... Chrome variations will be 3rd?

Sapphire # variation > base Sapphire variation > Chrome variation ??

I’m partial to sapphire any base and any variation all good by me…everyone likes their different flavors

Though not sure how great future years will be on any f1 as you probably won’t have many rc for people to chase

I agree with the 2nd part. F1 is so top heavy. Verstappen and Hamilton will battle for the championship next year with Norris and Russell battling for the 3rd podium each week. Eventually it will be the 3 kids.,.but who knows how long Hamilton sticks around.

Figured this might be the best place to ask.

If you were going to invest in 1 2020 sealed box to hold long term. Which would you choose?

Topps Chrome or Sapphire?

Why not both?

Hard to go wrong with either. At the current price point for a box, I might go hobby. I was hardcore Sapphire for a while though when it was like $850 a box for months.

If you believe this will have a strong following, you can't go wrong with either. It's tough to swallow how much the window closed though. Prices have doubled in a month.

I've always been partial to the Hobby box. SPs and Auto possibilities. I had my mind made up before I asked LOL Just wanted to see what others said.

I pre-ordered it in November when it was around $1600. I feel pretty fortunate that these have gone crazy, especially over the last 9-10 days.

Yes they where that at release but for at least a month on DandA you could pre order for $1525 for a case back in August last year. It kept getting delayed and as it did price kept going up even before release.

Yeah prices started at $1500 for a case, and then by release close to 6K. But then I’d say there was about a 1-2 month window where case prices fell to $4500 and since then, especially post August break, forget about it. Spiked big time.

It doesn’t matter if you’re buying sapphire or chrome, they’ll trend the same way. If you believe in the sport, now is the time to buy.

Wish I bought several cases and many boxes of Sapphire to stash. This stuff is just beginning and will be iconic (think 96-97 Topps Chrome Basketball, 03-04 Exquisite Basketball). Perfect storm of the GOAT in Hamilton, lots of young stars in Max, Charles, Lando, George, etc. "Prospects" in Mick, Yuki, Zhao, Albon, etc.

Every time the floor gets raised I see no way it drops back down. This was also quite limited compared to most print runs so we will see less and less of this broken soon.

Not to mention the SSP driver cards are amazing in-person.

For me, it would be Topps Chrome. I actually lucked out and found someone selling a sealed box locally (F1 is not popular in my country so it was a surprise). I was planning to hold it sealed but ended up opening it after 3 days... Me and my effing EQ. Lol

Man, that's crazy! Singles prices have a lot more ground to gain to make breaking boxes worth it! The rise of singles prices the past week and a half was good only for the rise of the box price to $900. Now, it's at $1400? Sheesh.

Maybe Blowout is having a hard time finding sealed product. Box prices were $1299.95 over the weekend and 3 days later $1999.95.

If a sealed case is $23,499.95 then the autographed base refractor Hamilton/58 should be at least a $50,000 card.

The one on ebay at BGS 8 is looking like a steal at $16,600 with 16 hours to go.

Idk if that’s true, but if there is really only 1 major supplier of boxes, it doesn’t matter what singles are tracking at. Blowout can charge what they want, as can the very few other suppliers if they are willing to sit on it a bit.

& it seems D&A, steel city just follow Blowout’s lead.

That's silly. You are getting into Dynasty prices there.

If anyone pays that they are a moron.

Isnt as silly as the case being at $23.499.95

The prices of the actual cards in the case dont come close to justifying that case price.
