Puig's first 289 PAs in 2013: 11 HR, .351/.412/.556, .440 BABIP, 8% BB, 23.5% K, 36% chase rate

Robert's first 262 PAs in 2021: 9 HR, .355/.393/.559, .424 BABIP, 4.2% BB, 20.2% K, 38.4% chase rate
Robert has always reminded me of an outstanding late 90's player - Mike Cameron. Cameron had a great career. This comparison doesn't bode well for cardboard reasons though.

Did you ever see what Puig went through to get to America to play baseball? He was never fully acclimated to how society ran here. Most of his erratic behavior can be attributed to him not knowing how to act in a vastly different social setting. Dude was extorted badly to escape Cuba.

I very much understand your point of comparing the numbers but let me see if I can help you put your mind at ease on this one. One of the things that made Robert the top international target and that’s carried with him still is his professionalism. It’s the first word out of many people’s mouths when they describe him. That’s a stark contest to Puig—his unprofessionalism drove his decline. Robert’s talent is also far from “Puig” raw. His head is in the right place and all arrows are pointing up on where his career could take him.

I’m in the market for an Action too. Have you found anything close to centered? I’m seeing 70/30 as the best options most of the time.

Finally decided to use some of my COMC funds and pick up a card I've been wanting to grab for a while. Seeing how I wont have it in hand for some time I'll just use the COMC scan lol

Have a couple/few more chrome parallels I want to pick up yet.

you're right, centering seems to be terrible overall. i do feel that a lot of these are currently in the PSA "clog" as well, so im hoping to find one this fall

This guy bats all over the lineup for whatever reason. Sure doesn’t make a difference he’s just plain consistent.

Ha! True! He hits leadoff when Anderson is out or on the DL. But TA really belongs at the top when he’s healthy. The real mixer though is Moncada. He’s a switch hitter with wild splits so they bat him wherever the numbers say on a given day—that is mostly 2nd/5th/6th/7th. Since 3rd is Abreu’s spot and Eloy typically hits 4th, that makes Robert the swap on days where Moncada’s splits aren’t ideal. They usually place Robert/Moncada and Grandal in those 4 spots—but play the numbers game based on their opponent/location/game time.

It’s nice that Robert performs well wherever! The most consistent is the most inconsistently used!

I still think he should be in the three hole eventually. Perfect spot for a player who can do it all.

As long as it’s not outside the top 5 I’m good, move him around depending on lineup and opponents.

For now I agree but I just feel like long term you want to get him in “his spot” for consistency. I’m not sure you want him moving around the lineup like this his entire career.

He is the future lead off hitter, but as long as Tim Anderson is hitting well that won’t change and that’s fine with me.

He'll be hitting 5th or 6th in the playoffs vs a righy starter. And, second vs a lefty starter.

Way more Roberts at PSA.

It is the #1 card for baseball being graded every month.

Obviously he won’t have a .354 batting average over a full season but there has been improvement on each level of his game so using the word “drop” that deliberately isn’t going to age well.

Jose Abreu won MVP, RoY, still sells for crap.
There's no way Luis will produces the same numbers from age 27 to 34 as Abreu.

Best to dump him now while iron is hot.
