.870 xBA on that one. DRS plays into WAR, but I agree that it doesn’t capture the nuance and true value of that play. If giants hold on and win that play is the difference in the game and it certainly doesn’t add +1 to Crawford’s WAR.

Tonight’s games were both exciting and this one still has the 9th inning to play out.

Normal Los Angeles night it would’ve been gone.

Gavin Lux threw his #1 finger when he hit that ball. Premature ejac.

Disco vs. Cat Man tomorrow. Should be a much different game plus weather report doesn't show much wind after 7pm.

Scherzer pitched a hell of a game. His stuff is so filthy, I'm just happy Longoria hit it out of the park and it was enough for the Giants to win.

Me too. I HATE the dodgers but I can acknowledge a great performance when I see it.

That was a classic Candlestick Park game.....

Only surprise was that nobody dropped a fly ball or popup.

Broke the Dodgers streak of 16 consecutive home wins and handed Scherzer his first loss in a Dodgers uniform.

Doval has still not allowed a run since being called up at the beginning of September.

Would also note that Ted Barrett was even worse than Angel Hernandez at calling balls and strikes....missed 15-20 pitches, although the announcers barely bothered to comment on it.

I'd note that another bad ball/strike call had a huge impact.

In the 1st inning, the 3-0 pitch to Yaz was clearly low. However, Barrett called it a strike and Scherzer came back to strike out Yaz.

Otherwise, Giants would have had 1st and 2nd with nobody out and Posey coming up.....

The Lord giveth (Giants) and the Lord taketh (Rays).

Thank you Giants. There is a faint pulse in the BasebaKing's gambling 'system'.

Don't let the Series go back to the Bay. Finish them off!!!

Camilo Doval 2021 Choice River Cats cards are selling for upwards of $100.

It’s obviously a bit overzealous, in the absence of any Topps (or even Panini) cards. But it also speaks to how exciting this kid is…as a closer, no less.

Dodgers are throwing Buehler on short rest. Should be interesting.

Exactly, and in actuality a +1 possibly still wouldn't tell the whole story if the Giants go on to win the WS. That is why I am not a fan of WAR. Everything in baseball, especially the postseason, is a continuous chain of events.

If you have anyone else besides Crawford as being the NL MVP; you really don't get baseball.

Don’t really like it. Hit hard the last two times they’ve seen him. Think this is the eighth or ninth time he’s faced them this year.
