I guess the difference between me and a bunch of you guys is when a team I don't like or a player I don't particularly enjoy loses or has a rough night I don't jump on the internet and gleefully boast about it...

Bad loss, no two ways about it. But one thing for sure, there are some sad little men masquerading as bosses on this forum!

The sky is definitely falling though, the Lakers lost the 5th game of the season with 5 guys out due to injury. I guess the new thing is you win the Champ in October...

I think the reality is the forum is loaded with immature men who use the anonymity of the internet to be ten feet tall.

This bum gets all that space and still can't hit a three to save his life. Gotta love how the defensive move on the perimeter is to let his stupidity get the best of him and take the shot uncontested.

I typically appreciate what you add to this forum but this is probably a top 5 worst comment I've read on here. Be better blue.

I was thinking the same thing. Lakers are fine. Brooklyn on the other hand....

Harden's gonna have to learn how to play Basketball again since the refs aren't bailing him out anymore.

Not sure how anyone can determine the Lakers are fine, and the next sentence say Brooklyn is in trouble.

Golly, he looks bad so far. I love the new foul rules though. Makes the game easier to watch.

Easy. Lakers are missing 5 players including lebron and have a totally new roster while Brooklyn has their full squad and has looked bad in literally all 5 games they've played.

Brooklyn doesn't have their whole squad though.

Claxton was out last night and they are still missing Kyrie. How can one gloss over him when he was a focal point of their build?

I agree. The games are more fun with less stupid elbow-extended-head-jerkbacks that result in a 3 minute free throw affair.

Btw - here's an idea. Free throws as a whole should never take more than 35 seconds. 5 seconds to line up. 10 for the first attempt. 10 for subs and then 10 for second attempt. tired of the long breaks for free throws.

Also, Wiz are 3-1

Didn't realize Claxton was out, but he doesn't move the needle for them. And I don't include Kyrie because I assume he isn't playing this year so he basically isn't on the team. If he is able to come back, I think they will be ok, just like the Lakers.

Claxton not moving the needle is basically the same as the guys the Lakers are missing.

THT, Nunn, Ellington and Ariza should all be back by Christmas, at the latest. Who's time will they be taking? Look at who they are replacing, if they can replace them:

Monk is averaging 10 points and shooting 38.5% from 3.
Bazemore is averaging 8 points and shooting 43% from 3.

You're now going to try and add three more guys in the short term that fit the same mold of what these two are doing. Ariza coming back around Christmas will be another. So, who is going to do more than what is being done already?

Depth is nice to have to get you to the playoffs, but do these guys really make the Lakers that much more of a playoff threat? I suppose time will tell, but I'm just not sold on the guys that are coming back into the fold.

I think tht and nunn are upgrades over bazemore and monk. I don’t know how much ariza has left and how much time he will get.

I think they are "upgrades" but my question was more, how much more are they going to do versus the production that Monk/Bazemore are giving right now?

Are you just trading the 18 points and shooting percentages? Does Nunn then take the ball out of Rondo's hands?

Better more efficient scoring, quicker defense and offense, can create their own offense, helps on nights like last night when there was no Lebron or in future games when there is no AD.

- Lakers looked like crap while having LeBron
- Missing 5 players? I'll give them 3. Ariza and Ellington are end of the bench players.
- Nets were missing Kyrie, Claxton and JJ. 2 starters and a wing rotation player. That's a full squad?
- Only 6 of the Nets players that have played so far played in the Bucks series. It's not like they are bringing back the same team.

It's not even November, one can start seeing things to worry about but let's wait until December before freaking out.

I certainly wouldn't call them upgrades.

I mean Monk is at least kinda average at his best. Bazemore is useless.

Monk is the best player out of that group, which is not saying much

They are automatically upgrades if bazemore is useless? Monk is playing alright but nunn and tht are better.

I would say upgrades based on the excepted output coming into the season. But with Monk playing how he is and Bazemore hitting the shots he is taking, that's where my questions come in.

I do agree that the expected output should be better than what was expected of a Monk/Bazemore combo, but we shall see once they are in the lineup.

Personally, I don't have much faith in Nunn.

I have no faith in Nunn. He was hyped for no reason in Miami and he's just not good
