Default Film Frames SHOWOFF THREAD (Disney, Star Wars, etc.)

OK, I know we have some collectors of these "Film Frame" cards. They've appeared, basically beginning this century, in such sets as Upper Deck's "Disney Treasures", Artbox's "Harry Potter" sets, and various Topps "Star Wars" sets (plus a few British-made sets like "The Man Who Fell To Earth" and "The Wicker Man").

Basically, they are regular sized trading cards with a couple of celluloid frames from an actual film print embedded in the card itself so they can be viewed when held up to a nice light source. What's cool about them is that while the outer card is always the same, the frames inside them tend to be unique, enabling collectors to go after many different scenes and characters.

The first ones I collected were from NECA's 2001 release for "Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas". A couple of years later, Upper Deck released 4 sets of "Disney Treasures" cards, all of which had film cards to collect. Best of all, two of those series featured "Nightmare Before Christmas" so I was able to add to the cards I'd collected from the earlier NECA set.

Here's a collection of the Disney Treasures Film Frame cards from the 4 series. There were 35 in all of the Two-Frame variety, which are shown here. (Well, 33 of them, anyway. All of my NBX frames will be in another post to follow this one).

Series 1: Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book, Fun and Fancy Free, 101 Dalmatians, Beauty and the Beast, Winnie The Pooh

Snow White, Fantasia, Pinocchio, Lion King

Series 2 and 3
Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Jungle Book, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, two different Donald Duck shorts, Peter Pan, Mulan, Bambi,
Rescuers, Aladdin, different Winnie the Pooh, Robin Hood, Pocahontas

Series 4 (Pixar 5 card set plus the Series 1 Pinocchio promo)

Series 2 also had a set of 10 cards (same subjects) that featured 4 frames instead of 2 frames. They were harder to find, usually only one in every 4 boxes. The regular ones were always found at a rate of 1 in every (24 pack) box. Here's four of the "Quads":

For Series 3, the deluxe chase card went back to only 2 frames but also featured an specially made embroidered patch of a character from the movie depicted. There were 10 of these, as well. I only have a couple of them, both from "Nightmare Before Christmas", but I'll include images of those in my "NBX" collection, to be posted later in this thread.

Anybody have any of these they'd like to share images of the frames of, from any of the sets I've mentioned, or even others I have not?
Let's see 'em!

I love these cards I have 40-50 of the Pixar Treasures reel cards and I also have an IMAX film cell from Interstellar that came free with the DVD. I'll get pics of them over the next couple of days but this is definitely my favourite, Toy Story film cell of Buzz first person view, love that you can see his reflection from his own helmet

Rock 'em, Sock 'em Robots are very cool and that's a nice Tobey and Kirsten duo from Spider-Man. The X-Files isn't from a card set, but still looks great. (There were some nice Disney lenticular motion cards that were also issued in a lucite case like that one, and Star Wars, too.)

There was also a Star Wars Phantom Menace deluxe Home Video (VHS!) release from around 2000 that came with an oversized card that had a strip of several frames in it, and there are naturally a lot of variations of those. I have at least a few of them.

Love those B&B ones, jdandns! Very, very cool.

Here are the 2 Nightmare Before Christmas ones I pulled recently.

Almost 4 years to say that's a couple of nice ones from the 2001 NECA card set there, Blue!

Here's mine from that set:

The above from a flatbed scanner to better show off the sharp design of the card borders:

I've fished out one of my binders with some of my cells, these are mainly pixar treasure reels with some 101 Dalmatians thrown in, apologies for the rough pics.

I'm always happy to trade for interesting cells if anyone is interested!

^those older, authentic film cell cards are pretty damn cool

If you read the backs of the newer ones that UD produces now (like the recent Space Jam ones), they're all manufactured...which I guess makes sense because everything is digital now, but still seems like a letdown.

Those new Space Jams are still pretty nice.

And, Portlaw, those Pixars are sharp!

I've had hundreds and hundreds of the Disney Treasures cards over the years, and the only two that were harder to find in packs than all of the others are "The Rescuers" in Series 3 and the "Finding Nemo" in the Series 4 Pixar set.

As promised (long ago), here's my Nightmare Before Christmas collection. These are from Series 2 (including the Quad 4-frame cards) and Series 3 (including the Patch/Film Frame combo)::

Picked this one up recently from Spiderman 2, Tobey-verse:

The frames are of Kirsten Dunst from the official trailer:
