Please tell me those Lebron & Brady cards are not currently in an auction if the search function isn't working.

Thanks - that wasn't showing as a search field for me - instead of the looking glass there was a box with a cross in it that did nothing if clicked, same with the three bar menu link on the other side which was the same box. Ken did email me and I checked again and I can now see it.

I understand people wanting to search a specific item, but in these auctions, I like looking at everything. I'd never purchase a high end baseball card, but I love looking at what's there.

And the selection of early Fleer and Topps basketball cards are nice.

It’s better, but not fixed. I’m still getting a ton of page crashes and random refreshes. The search does not work as an “and” function. When I search Tom Brady, I get two pages of mostly Tom Brady and two pages of nothing Tom Brady. I’m not even sure how the search thinks a Kyle Tucker signed ball that doesn’t have the words Tom or Brady in the title or description is a Tom Brady item. And when you search with the word “and” between Tom Brady, you get every item that has the word “and” in it.

It’s impossible to search correctly, and I’m not wasting time clicking through almost 40 pages when the pages keep crashing.

I watched and bid on a few items. No issues in the actual watch / bid process, all done on my desktop. I would say the experience was 'ok'. I'm trying the Marketplace and Vault, and both have a long, long way to go- but it all has to start somewhere.

For those who have sold with Goldin..............can you give me a bit of a time frame for payment? A friend of mine sold 6 figures in October and has still not received payment. Just curious if this is common practice or if this is a isolated incident.

When I sold an item for 200k+ it took a bit over 2 months to receive the check. I think they give some bigger buyers leeway on how and when they pay as all my other items were quickly paid out.

My buddy is in a VERY similar situation - they had his cards for a few months before they even listed them, and at the time they still wanted to "hold them for the new site" - needless to say, good thing he didn't listen to that.

So....2 months seems way excessive to me, but I have no experience with it personally.

I had no issues bidding. Search is still messed up, but seems like they’re working on it.

Wondering if December is going to be a non-sports only auction after they showed the Alien VHS tape on IG. Certainly hope not.

People need to remember that the consignor has all the power. Not the auction house. If you want your card listed by a certain time, get that in the contract. If you want payment by a certain time, get that in the contract. If the auction house won’t do that for you, move on to someone who will. There are plenty of companies out there who will be happy to work with you.

I bid on an item that may possibly have had a reserve? Or they don't show auto-bids in the history? Second highest bid showing as 225, won it for 300 though.
Not thrilled about an $8 'handling fee' but was easy to pay by credit card.
It's very easy to bid (alarmingly so almost) and doesn't give you an indication of total bid amount including BP like Heritage does which would be better.
Seemed to go ok though, felt like a better experience than the last ones.

Exactly, whenever I'm planning on consigning a fairly big card I'll send a message to 4-5 of the biggest consignment guys on ebay and say something like "I see you take 7% of the final sale on cards $10,000+ but I'm considering instead consigning with Company X, Y, or Z, however, if you can do 5% instead of 7% I'll send it to you." Usually, at least 1 of them bites since from their point of view it's basically just free money anyway so it's worth it to give up an extra percent or two to avoid losing the card to their competition.

Going through the January auction and wow!! Crazy!! I think this is the biggest Goldin auction I have seen and my watchlist continues to grow.

The search function looks to be working accurately and the site in general seems to be bug free and smoothe - let's see how it performs on the auction day in January. The one thing that I don't like and thought would be improved by now is the aesthetics of the site. I don't know, just not feeling the black & white all over with very little design. Also, pwcc premier 360 card display is off the hook and I was interested to see what Goldin would come up with and so far... mia.

Goldin seem like nice people. They know a lot about cards and the Youtube commentator I spoke with about the silver Kobe Topps Chrome Best on the phone is knowledgeable. He just lost me when he said that his auction house would only accept PSA authenticated error material. Well PSA doesn't authenticate true errors any more, they are not sophisticated enough. Because that takes time, effort, and forensics. So that and the address bungling thing and PWCCs total ineptitude sent me to CSG, in whose vault R12.S resides. I'm waiting for the CSG Guaranteed auction platform to launch, before placing anything of sig value up for sale.

There are stuff I want as well, but a bit too pricey. Too bad it's purely an auction house, so they can't do trade plus cash.

Seems they've improved the search capability, and speed, which is great. Still a very long way to go before they are at a satisfactory level though. I have one item listed for auction so will be watching and hoping for the best

Silver Topps Chrome Best?

No wonder PSA is confused.

That was a joke. But 96-97 TSC Bryant (R12.Silver), only copy known, authenticated, and graded, is not.

And Goldin guy as I said was knowledgable and took a couple minutes out of a busy day. I appreciated that. But he then kind of conflated it with backdoored hand-cut sheets of TSC that exist and known fakes of other 96-97 issues, suggesting it was likely fake and worthless. Based on provenance and in-person card handling, I was of the strong opinion that it was not.... so our paths diverged (+ the PSA only thing).

I thought it was a Fleer Silver logo error?

I found a 96-97 Fleer Bryant 203.S in the wild as well a couple weeks later. It has a silver foil name, not logo (which is usual gold). It was just around the time that a thread about such a Jordan popped up. So at least that one has some other examples (if not the same player).

I've started to sell of parts of my collection, and it doesn't bother me if it takes time for me to be paid. One time with Goldin, I got a check right away. Another time, it took just over a month. I don't mind either of those. I figure...they have to get paid from the person that bought it etc etc. It's not like I can't make my rent and need their check to come in.

What I've always worried about is...when I read the contract I signed with them, it does state things (none of which bothered me) about how they can decide which auction and other things (and that makes sense because...what if their auction is going to have 5 Michael Jordan rookies, perhaps they'll want to hold off your Jordan for the next auction, or whatever). The only thing that worried me is something in the contract that said they reserve the right to (and I can't remember the exact verbiage), if the high bidder doesn't pay or some such thing, they can go with someone else that bid on the item at a lower amount. Because I'm always worried in auctions about shill or fake bids or whatever. And I'm hoping all the big auction houses have things in place to keep that from happening. So, when my Michael Jordan graded 10 rookie sells for $390,000...I don't want to get a message from them that states "Uh, yeah. The person that won that bid doesn't have money so...here's your check for $120,000."
(that was just an example).
So far, that hasn't happened and I've been happy.

Another thing to ask yourself is -- what does an auction house have to gain by waiting to pay you? When they get paid from the buyer, they'll pay you. It's not like they collected the six figures your friend got auctioning his/her item, and now they collected it and said, "Well...let's wait two months to send them the check." How in the world would that benefit them?
People just need to be patient. Obviously, if 6 months goes by after the auction closes, then raise hell. Or ask for interest on that money, or whatever. But I doubt that will happen.

That’s a particularly easy question to answer. First answer, it’s an interest free loan (which you alluded to yourself), or interest bearing holding. Second, some auction houses wait a period after they’ve been paid to make sure there are not problems with the items both getting to the buyers and the buyers being satisfied with them (e.g., damage or unknown authenticity issue).
