It wasn’t $20 a card. It was $20+ a card. The exact prices are a few pages back. And they were all more expensive than what PCS charged at the time.

He said they had over 6000 cards in an account hold in November. They were paying $20+ a card. He had $121k that he had already paid to Marx. When he was unable to reach an agreement with Marx, he went directly to PSA. Marx had already paid PSA a small portion. That brought Ryan’s total down to $110,513 for the cards that were ready (Ryan says ready over and over again in the video, aka already completed and in an account hold because Marx didn’t have payment). He paid that total to PSA, and had his cards shipped back.

He never point blank says if he had other outstanding cards that weren’t graded yet. But he’s been fairly forthcoming, so I would wager no. I’m sure you can ask him and he’ll let you know.
---------------------

You say he's been "fairly forthcoming"? I think we have very different opinions of what that phrase must mean.

Was it "very forthcoming" to advertise to his customers a PSA bulk submission service?

As I understand it, he wasn't authorized to do PSA bulk submissions. And in fact, HE NEVER SUBMITTED A SINGLE CARD TO PSA.

Was it "very forthcoming" to send his customer's cards to Marx cards under the guise of him doing PSA submissions?

He himself has said he didn't even know Marx Cards. Did Marx cards switch out any of CC2's customer's cards for lesser version? Did they damage any cards? Did he even think about the risk he was exposing his customer's to? Or was it just all about HIM making a few more bucks?

Was it "very forthcoming" of him to have knowledge that Marx cards was not in a position to pay PSA for bulk submissions and keep quiet about it for two months while thousands more cards were sent to Marx cards for PSA submissions?

Was it "very forthcoming" of him to tell his customers after the fact that part of the reason for the delay of their cards was that he entrusted their money to another business entity other than PSA.

His video is nothing but a self serving bit of PR. He made material misrepresentations to his customers. He took money meant to be held for payment to PSA and sent it to a third party (once you take money meant for others you have legal obligations for how that money is handled - obviously he did not meet those obligations - the fact he found a way to bail himself out notwithstanding).

I'll repeat, only he and PSA knows what happened behind the scenese. If PSA tells him to say xyz at this point he's going to say xyz. His word is demonstrably worthless.

Can’t believe you just took at that time to preach to the choir. Ryan did what he did because he messed up and his business depended on it. Not because he’s some hobby saint.

I said what I said because he’s been mostly upfront now, although has left out some details.

That is a fair point (my wasting my time). I do so because while I enjoy the cards I own and some of my experiences, I also loath a small percentage of what this hobby has become.

When I hear/read some of the narrative that folks put out there saying this guy is a "stand up" guy for his actions and his mistake was some sort of itty bitty teeny tiny mistake it doesn't sit well with me. And I've learned as I've aged that unless people are willing to speak up and say some things that are rather straight-forward but somewhat unpleasant - the folks that conduct themselves in this way just skate right on by telling their lies and conning the next guy.

So in some very small way I've attempted to put it in black and white (hopefully in a straight forward and understandable way) what is very wrong with this guy's actions towards his customers and other people in the hobby. And if it helps a few folks understand what took place and exactly what is wrong with it - and helps them avoid doing business with his type then its good.

Look at it this way. How many men/women are running honest BB card businesses and didn't try to circumvent PSA's rules/processes for group submissions and they were charging a higher price to ACTUALLY send cards to PSA? Is there a shop near him doing it honestly and losing out? Likely.

So anyways, I'll pack it in and watch football

I think most in this thread were already in agreement that CC2 not being transparent about his group sub service was scummy and/or scammy

There is only one person that is saying Ryan shouldn't be blamed for this and was a "victim." Everyone else knows that Ryan made a big mistake and that he is lucky he had the funds to correct his mistake from an ethical and legal position. There are many other companies probably like CC2 that are in the same position, but don't have the ability to come up with $100,000. Looks like Gems Only ran into the same situation. What is the difference between them and Ryan? Absolutely nothing besides Ryan could come up with $110,000 to save his own a$$. Gotta feel for the hustlers that were hustled...

Most in this thread, but not on IG. That’s for sure. But this is why people get scammed. They are too trusting. I trust you with my valuables and you are dishonest, that’s the last time we ever do business together.

Pretty odd that the CFO noted on Marx Cards corporate statement doesn't even list Marx Cards on his linkedin, yet has a new title, right around the timeframe CC2 notes he ran into his problem with Marx.

Did the CFO see the storm coming and jump ship?
Agreed very odd.

PSA most be the most unlucky company ever. They are always doing business with frauds and are completely surprised when crap hits the fan...

If a Ford dealership was doing this with new cars what would you say? This is a giant corporation and an awful look, but they can probably get out of most liability with high priced lawyers.

You wouldn't check if someone had a $1million tab? You don't think PSA knew they were a group submitter?

The dude was next door delivering the cards to the front door getting fast turnarounds as CC2 said. If you don't think PSA is at fault you are not smart or have a financial stake in PSA be it employee, dealer, etc.

Their policy of letting large group submitters collect money upfront and not pay PSA upfront made this possible. The best spin you can give PSA in this situation is that they are just stupid business people and didn't see it coming.

Wow! That’s a first. Respond to the same quote three different times over 18 minutes. That’s real hate in the heart.

How do you know they were aware he was collecting money upfront? Also, not sure how long they give people to pay, since it usually probably takes some time to collect the money.

How many orders did they grade before they realized he went busto? Does the tab take into account orders that weren't graded yet, meaning the tab wasn't due?

I don't have all the facts, maybe you do?

Ford dealership comparison makes no sense btw.

How would they not ask with that much money owed to them? Payment is due before orders are released. I was a dealer until they banned me for asking about the trimming fraud and PWCC fraud. I can show you the threads and proof by PM.
