Default SCI HITS NFT's

NFT's of people pulling sports cards. When I thought things couldn't get any worse. Maybe they will have a NFT of the Backyard Breaks Trevor Lawrence pull. Yours right now at about $250 for a 1/1 NFT with gas fees. I said Geoff in the past was probably a nice guy, but uniformed about the hobby. I take that back now. He is now a leader of the cesspool idiots of the hobby. Disgusting!

So this is just 100% grifting at this point. I don't watch much Breakers, the ones I have seen are mostly high on the annoying scale. I certainly don't want to collect clips of them.

So in theory you can get a card pulled for you, and you own the physical copy, but someone else can own the video clip of your card getting pulled.

This hobby is so stupid.

I guess we shouldn't be that surprised. His card investments last what a quarter mill last year? Ouch.

The allure of NFT’s is one thing I’ll just never get. Add digital trading cards to that list as well.

It’s just a money grab. 200 NFTs x $200 each = $40,000 for his series 1. He entices people to buy saying they will be placed in an exclusive group breaks each quarter. Be careful.

NFTs and cards aren’t entirely dissimilar when it comes to influencing their values.

I can see an owner of a big card would want the hit NFT. Other then that I'm not seeing it. He's overestimating the popularity of the breakers.

I'll just leave these here. It doesn't man ALL NFTs are fraud, but if you're investing in what you think will be the legitimate version be aware they will all have the NFT stink on them when this blows up.

So do they have the permission of the person who uploaded the video to create this nonsense, or are they basically stealing the clips and minting them and not providing them any compensation for what they're doing? Maybe I have the wrong understanding of copyright, so if I'm wrong on this please correct me.

Edit: if he said something about this, then also let me know. I can't stand Geoff so I only watched a few minutes

Ninja you need to approach our guy Geoff about getting added to his stable of personalities. I could see you hosting the weekly NFT Hot/Cold list. You know it's coming.

There is a list of affiliated breakers on the front page of the website

Gotcha. Appreciate it.

As a small-time YouTuber who just does stuff on the side, I just wouldn't want someone profiting off my clips when I don't yet. Good to know there's an affiliation.

As someone involved in NFTs, this is an amusing aspect. Particularly with sports-based NFTs, card collectors have a lot of knowledge to draw from about players and what people buy. So many in these things don't even know who the stars are. Particularly when new things drop, you can make a lot of quick money just based on your card knowledge.

But I know laughing at anything not cardboard is a good time, too.

You could actually make a lot of money buying any breaker NFT that has Ally from Titan Cards. Lots of absolute creeps out there and they will buy this trying to have a connection with her. I am sure there might even be a few stalkers of her on this forum.

I think we are seeing something similar to the Dot Com Bubble with NFTs. Cool technology, will have some legit projects come out alive, but a lot will share the same fate as Pets.com.

You're right--most projects will fail. I stick to those with licensed, well-known IP. Not saying all those will make it, but they have a much better chance due to the money involved.
