Answer:

By buying a $20 Iverson 1996-97 Topps Chrome RC in BGS 8.5, cracking it, and sending it to PSA to receive a PSA 10!

No need to search eBay... this was a short while ago I sold it, and some time before that when I originally purchased it as an 8.5. I just knew it was way better than the grade given, and it was only a matter of time I sent it in to PSA.

This wasn't too too long ago, and it was under the new ownership of today. I also graded a couple of 1988 Fleer basketball BGS 9's that came back PSA 10

Exactly how I feel these days. I've sent in cards to BGS and PSA since 2000... Now I'd rather have a PC card in a nice looking case with no grade. Its a load of doo doo.

I honestly don't think that card ever sold for $20 in a BGS 8.5, even 20 years ago. But if you did buy it 20 years ago (would've had to have been around that long ago), there are countless cards that have appreciated 100 fold in that time without even going from from a BGS 8.5 to a PSA 10.

I know there's even more subjectivity with low grades but I bought a 61 Fleer Cousy in a SGC 2.5, cracked it, sent it TTM for him to sign, then sent it to PSA and it came back a 4.

How come every card he sells is $2200? "If I wanted to scam someone, I would have sold the card for the $2,200 offer I received through PM. I declined it, and I sent it to grading, because obviously I believed it would come back mint or better."

Say you bought the card for a price it hasn’t been since probably early 2000s. If ever.
