Looks like one that graded at an 8.5 sold for $510. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-Marvel...-127632-2357-0

After looking at that sellers feedback, this card didn’t change hands, as a negative was left for never getting the card, rather a refund- whether the seller is being truthful and the package got lost, or he didn’t get the price he wanted, is anyone’s guess.

However that doesn’t really change that people in the market decided to bid the card up to 510, which sounds reasonable for a card like this.

In 1996 MM double impact, there are 2 tiers: first 4 are more valuable and *roughly* comparable to each other, last 2 are cheaper and different. A factor influencing the particular value of each of the first 4 is how many of that card are currently on/were on the market recently (generally eBay). Since very little of the surfer/cap surfaced lately, I’d say >400 might be reasonable.

I agree that $400-$500 seems reasonable these days, but can definitely see it going higher in today's insane market. Used to be, you could pick up cards #5 and #6 for between $25 and $50, and the others for around $100-$200. I can easily see the Psylocke or Rogue going for something astronomical. I mean, hell, the Psylocke base has crossed $200 at times.

Yea, probably more like 500ish, maybe even slightly higher. I personally dont think it's likely it would go for, say 700+, as a complete set of 6 can currently be had for 2k.

If I was selling a Surfer/cap double impact right now, it'd be a prime candidate for auction, instead of buy it now: no other examples currently listed individually, could possibly be two people who really want the card for a set. Then again, I almost never get lucky with auctions on ebay as a seller.

Sold a complete 6 Card set for $2000, I think $400-600 for the SPs.
