Default Thoughts on Grade?

Thoughts on what this could grade for on either PSA or BGS? Hard to tell, but surface is really clean.

Also, I have never submitted a card before, but standard BGS seems somewhat reasonable at $50, but $100 for PSA seems ridiculous. Should I submit to BGS or just wait for PSA prices to come down? No plans to sell it. Thanks!

Looks like edge wear just below the top left corner, and a soft top right corner. Maybe some additional edge wear/roughness on the back. 7.5?

Looks like a nick in upper left edge and back edges too. Your background doesn’t help in the photo because it’s not clean. Thinking 8 best.

8 at best. You should submit to SGC for $30 with legit 30 day turnaround. With the black holders, this card would look great. BGS is trash to me.

Jeez, is it even worth grading if those are the grades I’m looking at? Just wondering if it’s better to sell raw…not that I plan to sell it as I PC him.

The light angle can make chrome edges look more rough than they are. It doesn't have that perfect 10 wow look at first sight. I'd venture it's a contender for a 9.

I do think that’s part of the issue as well as the glare from the background making it look like there is more white on the edges. It looks really clean in person IMO.

It’s hard to tell online and I find a lot of people online will tend to undergrade your card. You honestly won’t know unless you send it in. It could be a 9 or 10. Could be a 7-8.

It is so easy to rip apart cards from a single photo. The majority of these cards, even with the black borders, have graded a PSA 9. If this card is for you PC, I would hold off on sending it until grading opens back up and becomes cheaper. If you are not selling, right now isn't the time to grade. I am putting all my gradable cards into one touches right now and just being patient. Once PSA gets through their backlog this year, we will see much cheaper prices.

I have posted cards here before for an opinion and most often people gave insanely low estimates. As I got comfortable with grading I just stopped and trusted my experience. You have some people that hate grading and they will let it be known with a sarcastic comment and you have people that think a little white on a corner will get a PSA 8, while we all have seen a little white on a corner get PSA 10's.

10% PSA-7
45% PSA-8
5% PSA-8.5
40% PSA-9

I'll guess PSA-8.5. Can't see much in the photos that is definitive. Try a solid background color.

I would absolutely wait on PSA. I wouldn't want to pay over $25 to grade that card. (PSA-9 recently sold in the $500-600 range.)

Good luck!

If you want more accuracy, you need to post a clear picture. Because what we're seeing in it might just be fuzz or a reflection.

Just to show how much a background changes how a card looks, here are some pics with a background that doesn’t glare. All the spots of the surface are just like dust.

Contrary to what others have said, to me it’s a solid 9.

You need to post Higher resolution pics. More card, less green..

At PSA that reverse centering could still get a PSA 10. Can be 75/25 on the reverse of the card. PSA 9's can have 90/10 on the back.

white bordered cards look best in SGC and not black.
Do you like 71 Topps in SGC?
