Mike Sterling really hated those medallions, huh? I bet if The Toddfather created a new medallion today, and hyped it on his IG account, he could make 2,000 and sell-out instantly. I have no idea how much those are worth, but Spawn is hot right now. Collectors are shelling out massive bucks for high grade, low print run issues, variants and even regular covers.

Would be awesome if he did something like that

Had no idea Spawn was hot right now, back when I stopped reading it, the title was in the dumps. After issue 100, it nose dived right into a land fill and they also shut the Spawn boards down a few years after that.

Still have a couple autographed books, one by Greg and the other by Todd, from way back in the day.

That’s the reason why a lot of issues from 101-200 have become highly sought after: print runs dramatically decreased during that time. Now people are trying to go back and fill up holes in their collections are realizing that some issues are tough to find.

That's pretty cool, looks like one sold on ebay (not sure when, but I'm sure some years back) like yours for $175.00. I'd imagine it's worth more now with the Spawn resurgence.

Man, wish I knew that was going to happen, but they were absolute stinkers when it comes to reading, the art was...hectic, to be nice about it and the story lines: watching paint dry.

I also had one that featured Mandarin Spawn on the cover, it was the back story of this character that debuted in action figure form, he was so popular they did that issue and several repaints of the figure. THAT one was a pretty good issue, I recall Greg Capullo did the art for that cover as well.

Shot in the dark here, but do you by any chance know, or remember what the deal was with Spawn issue 18? I remember there was something unique about that particular issue, that it was released AFTER 19 and 20, or that it was short printed, I don't recall which.

Thanks dude and I appreciate the price check. Is this the reported / listed sale from Watch Count by any chance? Guessing most people don't even know these exist and they're fairly limited, guessing not a lot of orders for them, although the gold ones with the ruby eyes I am not sure I've ever seen one.

No, I don’t recall. I was never into Spawn myself due to that whole story being garbage problem it had… haha.

After issue 100, completely agree with you.

1-100 > better than anything Marvel and DC ever put out.

I thought I'd chime in. Yes the issues 101-130 somethings are boring, but it picked up when Spawn becomes the almighty. Then another boring spot and suddenly the Jim Downing arc which I actually like cause it's a lot different.
In conclusion? I have to say that the buildups are really boring but the culmination is satisfying, that's just how it is with Spawn

Also if you have not, check out gunslinger spawn. It's easily the best spawn comic in years
