Most everyone covered the important points above. Another thing I like to look for is game used patches in the fine print on the back of cards. At the end of the day buy what you like, don't spend beyond your means, and enjoy the hobby!

Really enjoying this thread so far. Some great advice and feedback shared. I hope to see alot more replies in here.

One piece of advice said often in the hobby, that is short and has been helpful to me is " focus on QUALITY over quantity".
