Those are nice!

Unfortunately, more will undoubtedly hit the market over the years as part of Archives Signatures.

There was a 2019, 2020, and I believe (could be wrong) a 2021 auto 1/1 version of Juan Soto's US300.

Glad to see it, but this sale seems a little excessive. Is it a reflection of the insane cost to grade with PSA?

Possibly, perhaps the offbeat numbered refractors are gaining some steam, another raw blue and PSA 9 black sold for nice amounts too just the other day.

Saving from relegation to page two. Just back from a private signing. Turned out how I had hoped.

Sick! So glad you didn’t get it done in Sharpie.

That sure makes a strong argument for using the same photo for the base and auto. Because looks pretty stellar.

At least we have the mystery auto…

I know, right! I looked at a bunch on ebay and I hated the look of the thicker Sharpie "fine point". I tested a few versions of what it might look like, but didn't like it. I wanted it thin, with detail in the auto, which is lost with the thicker pen.

I think these are signed in the classic Sharpie:
https://ebay.com/itm/255438063680
https://ebay.com/itm/313822004743
https://ebay.com/itm/274984995379

When I have some time tonight I'll post a new thread with some additional photos and card prep methods I researched & tested before sending this one off. I requested Staedtler Lumocolor for this one, so I assume that's what was used here (I didn't have to send the pen, just made a request that it be used for this auto)

I'm going to have a large PSA sub in August. This will be part of it!

Wait so people like the RD picture, but not the US1 picture? You can argue US1 is a much better image, but hey that’s the cool thing about opinions.

Yeah the RD image is by far my least favourite. He’s the focal point of the image, but far too small and crowded with other players.

Also just an awkward snapshot.

To me, only the NNO/chrome image works as a main RC.

My exact feeling about the RD, as well. It has more the feel of a team card (like a checklist).

I’m not as down on the Update shot as others. My only issue is how unavoidable Eric Sogard’s face is in the background.

I think most photos on his RC cards are awful! Topps just being Topps, though. Biggest chase of that year in their releases, and they put forth ZERO effort to make it special.

I really don't mind the US1. There are only so many different ways you can show off his swing, which most of his cards do. US1 isn't my absolute favorite of all his RC's, but certainly not my least favorite either.

Anyone have any beautiful looking raw copies of his 1st Chrome or 1st Chrome Auto?? ... I was looking at Vlad's BGS pop report and there isn't a single 1st Bowman or BC of any variation (outside of his BB auto) with a Black Label - which would be a sexy look on that card.
