but but but....Ovechkin made his NHL debut in October 2005 and shortly thereafter (Dec. 2005 issue) the Beckett gods had already made this grand declaration. So I am not even sure they are worth the paper they are printed on.

After seeing you drop this incredible collection down on this thread… I was thinking, yup, there’s Wyatt in 2005-06 loading up on Ovi while everyone else is all in on Sid.

As crease said… this collection is worth a fortune.

Got this in earlier this week as a replacement for an extremely off center Adam Fox seismic gold auto that I pulled on epack. Had no clue what was coming, was extremely happy when I opened the package. Especially being a die hard Caps fan.

So...been working on cleaning out my garage the last couple of weekends and keep coming across some Ovi stuff I completely forgot about. I will take some more pics and post them later. This item is kinda cool:

An Ovi goal puck from 04/06/2011. The game was against FLA. It was the 5th goal of the game and Ovi's 32nd and final goal of that season (his 301st career goal). The goal itself was an unremarkable emptynetter assisted by Backstrom. This season was Ovi's lowest goal total of his career for a normal full season. So it is noteworty in that respect I guess.

I have no memory at all of how this little piece of history ended up in a box in my garage.

Wow, that’s incredible. that’s like owning a Babe Ruth home run ball. I doubt very many of Ovi’s 773 goals have ended up in collections

Pretty much my exact thoughts as well. Not sure if anyone would remember if that card was a redemption or not but it really makes you wonder if “certain” cards never make it into packs. Other than expired redemptions are there any other reasons why a card would exist but not be but into circulation?

I've thought this as well. Many reasons why cards may not end up in packs. Maybe the memorabilia was late getting to UD, or the cards were signed late, etc.

In one of my goalie PC's, I have received a regular paralleled 1/1 (not auto/mem) that the original owner said he received from UD as a redemption replacement years ago. That one was an odd story for sure.
