Yep! I message sellers all the time that don't have OBO what is the lowest they'd go. If they respond with a number I ask they change their price and I'll hit the BIN or to send me an offer through ebay and I'll accept that offer.

I do know i can be on my laptop and see a message and it usually takes 2 or 3 minutes later before my phone indicates the message has arrived or sometimes its the other way around. There is also evidence of slight time differences in times on the app and desktop.

And i know for a fact i got a 24 hour suspension for messaging about a price with a buyer. That was before they added the make offer but it happens and i will not risk it. As i mentioned but seems you ignored it. There is a difference in using the make an offer button in the messages and just entering numbers. That to me is ebays way if trying to keep them on ebay and could easily see that messages like that where the offer button is not being used could be for taking the offer off which there is no way they want that. There is a fine line between the 2 areas.

But there has never been anything about messages being delayed. Well a simple google search

Here is an off Ebay post to microsoft outlook express tech suppourt thread saying up to 4 days. They apparently were trying to see if it was on their end

Wow. Your example is from four years ago? I'm convinced! Nothing has changed since then!

The reputation hole. Now OP is bashing him. If he cancel the sales, then the ebay buyer will bash him.

Too bad, someone was willing to pay more.

As mentioned, if the seller cancels the sale for the other guy then hes done him wrong.
