I really wish there was more vintage and graded vintage on the site. It seems like there are two big-time vintage accounts that buy up everything when it is a decent deal and just mark it up to way above eBay pricing. The grading definitions of vintage is also not consistent. A lot of the "Good to VG-EX" cards are much better than the cards not designated with a grade.
I do love the platform though and hope more people try to unload vintage on there! Right now, I am using COMC for raw cards I want, HOF auto's, and I keep waiting for people to lower prices on the Smits cards I need for my PC. Just requested a shipment with 85 cards. Now to try to spend my $790 balance from my sales this past two weeks.

As for the grading, at least the inconsistency can occasionally lead to a solid deal when those G-VG/EX cards are nicer than the bucket without any description! |

And I'm surprised there aren't a lot more raw vintage cards on COMC, just from a practical standpoint for sellers. I just sent in about 700 of them myself. If there is any interest/sales, I have plenty more to submit. It's hard to find good places to list or dispose of raw vintage. For 1980-present, I sent a bunch to DCSports87 and am happy. For graded vintage, there are plenty of options. But for pre-1980 raw cards that don't really rise the level of auction houses, etc, (and I guess for people like me that are too busy/lazy to ebay directly) I couldn't find a lot of options. On the graded front, I don't expect they will get much market share. If PWCC collapses, then I'm sure some business will be driven to COMC. But graded cards in general seem to have a pretty established pricing, so sending them to ebay consigners, etc, is often just easiest for sellers. |

Again, I should point out that I'm too lazy to list $5 card on ebay.... |

How are people able to set the minimum offers on cards in Inventory Manager? I can't see to find that. Do I have to specifically tell COMC to do it?

Another 300 cards listed in the last two days, I think it’s safe to say they’re only about four or five weeks out on listing most things via standard.

That's weird, but really doesn't matter until they get scanned/processed. Cards that are remote usually become non-remote in a few days anyways.

I asked CS about this for one of my submissions. They explained that while the submission is processing it'll still have that status until they're finished and the cards are stored in their final location.

Trying to sell my entire port via a port sale. Has anyone had luck doing this?

Sent my first submission and I'm wondering why some of my items say they are stored remotely and some are not. They were shipped in the same package (only 30 cards to Redmond). Any thoughts?
When the Covid lockdowns began in March 2020, the local rule was that COMC could only have 10 people in the warehouse at any given time. To get more processing done, they started processing some cards in locations other than the main warehouse. Until those cards are in the main warehouse, they are marked as "Stored Remotely". This usually lasts for a few days at most. |

People sell ports all the time, but you need to have realistic expectations. If you have decent cards and rational prices, you should expect to get offers of about 20%-25% of total asking price for the port. If you have time, it's preferable to have progressively larger sales (example: 50% for 10 days, 60% for 10 days, 70% off for 10 days, and so on). Or, simply lower the prices over time either manually or using the bulk repricing tool. When you get to where your port is 75% / 80% / 85% off, you might then either offer it as a port, or you can go into the "Spam your COMC" section of Blowoutcards forum to let people know you are open to selling the whole port. If there's a flipper who is consistently buying your cards, and if they are active on these boards or somewhere else, you might send them a quick note asking if they want to buy your whole port. In general, port buying is similar to a seller at the end of a show who offers their whole table to someone for some price. |

Going to echo what checkoutmydeals said. Running a progressive sale is the best way to get rid of stuff. I don't even look at port sales since most of them are overpriced.

Same here. When COMC was really backed up and service was bad, people were dumping ports for pretty cheap. Granted they were smaller ones, but I was getting some great margins.

A quick question, as I'm new to COMC.
Some items listed for sale on COMC also show up as BIN items on ebay. How is that determined? Are they submitted for listing by the seller (I can only find the instructions for submitting to auction not the COMC store)? Or are those from COMC's own inventory? Thanks in advance! |
