Default Do the grading companies grade 7 days per week?

It’s common for certain industries to run shifts 7 days per week to get sufficient leverage over fixed costs. Does PSA, BGS, or SGC grade cards 7 days per week? Anyone know?

PSA does grade during the weekend. Although it is probably less people than during the week.

They should be grading 24/7 or 18 hour days.

I don't know if I want tired graders working an overnight shift evaluating my submissions...

I have noticed for my PSA orders the last several months they typically move from grading to assembly during the week while the QA/Shipping steps still move on the weekend.

I noticed PSA is pumping out less cards on Saturdays according to the Gemrate numbers. Maybe they are giving staff a little break now that the backlogs is dwindling down.

The number of people who responded that thinks he meant that specific graders should work 18 hours shifts is frightening...

They should have 16 hour days across 2 shifts, 7 days a week with people rotating weekends like most service industries until they get through their massive backlog. They dug this hole themselves, now they need to get out from it.

yes, my 18 hour days would be 3 shifts of 6 hours.

Grading modern is not that hard, Most the bulk submitters here are more experienced than the new graders at all these grading companies when looking at corners, centering and surface. The card identifiers are the difficult position to fill.

Nope, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to pull a random PSA grade out of a hat

They didn’t dig it themselves. Everyone who sent or sends in contributes to a backlog. It doesn’t work one way. You pay for a service and service gets backed up and you keep sending and service will mostly still be backed up…

I contributed with the crap I just got back. $12 a card for a bunch of crap. We all did it and deserved the 15 month wait.

They should have raised prices or limited submissions in early 2021.

Easy for us to say.
