Had one bad inning, probably his worst all year, held them to only one hit, but the biggest issue is still no run support for him.

Hate seeing a quality arm get wasted like that. Always frustrating for a pitcher when he can’t get any support.

He's got to chill with the walks. His stuff is electric, but he's killing himself.

Today’s outing reminded me of the year he played at AA Birmingham. Every other start, he would have one inning (usually the 3rd or 4th) of bad luck or lack of execution, and it made an otherwise great outing look pedestrian in the box scores.

He would enter the 4th inning with 7Ks 0 H, but then an error, HBP, WP, walk, and a broken bat single. It would be a 35-pitch inning with 3 earned runs just like that. I always wondered if it was an emotional/mental thing… trouble dealing with adversity or tight situations.

He doesn’t have them as often anymore - hence his progress and success.

After today, he has the 6th best ERA in all of baseball.

He’s also the only pitcher out of the 32 best ERAs in the majors without a win.

In the top 9, every pitcher has at least two wins, except for Kopech.

Get the man some run support!

Oh boy just realized that ERA shot up to a 1.54 !!!! I’m dumping all my RC’s & 1st Bowmans first thing tomorrow morning. Once any pitcher I’m collecting has an ERA ascend past 1.49 I begin listing em immediately……

Absolutely ridiculous how he’s performed thus far. Seems like he’s been everything the Sox could’ve imagined. As for the run support………

The lack of run support, or not being able to hold a lead for him, were getting Degrom-levels of comical. Glad the bats came alive in the 8th and they got him his first win. It's a nice way to celebrate after having a new baby.

Announcers mentioned he was previously sitting 92-95 in previous starts.

Today he was sitting in mid to upper 90s.

Good times ahead. I would hold. If WS make noise in playoffs his cards could take off.

He hit 100. Happy to see the velocity back and if he can throw that gas and continue fooling guys with curves he will be super fun to watch

Yeah biggest takeaway to me was how he was pumping it late in the game / 7th inning. Looked terrific. And agreed on the hold.

I love seeing that he essentially threw a perfect game between two games. This is the Kopech that we’ve been waiting for and he’s starting to show up.

Pretty, pretty, pretty good. 4 games of one-hit ball this year. He's been destroying teams in 1st place. Doesn't even have his change-up working yet. If he's focused, good night.

As a white Sox fan, I’m glad he’s turning the corner after so long.
The double whammy of tommy John and Covid did not help at all.

Triple whammy of Tommy John, Covid, and some mental health struggles. Great to see him living up to his awesome potential.
