Even the Zebras were tired in OT and did not signal goal in real-time. Avs in 5....

That's because they didn't see where the puck went....not too often it gets stuck where it did in the top of the net.

Delighted for Kadri, showed great character to come back from surgery so quickly and score the winner. Felt like time stopped still when that OT goal went in.

Their season effectively just ended due to a blatantly missed too many men call on Kadri’s goal, so can’t blame him.

Loose line changes happen all the time. Pretty rare that would be called. Simply put Avs were by far the better team in OT and deserved the win. All teams have tight calls for and against. I seem to remember Tampa having one go for them against The Islanders last season.

Call it karma for that goal against the Isles when they had seven on the ice last year.

It would actually be hilarious for Kadri to take an identical photo with a Six Men On The Ice shirt when the Avs close this out.

Oh yeah. He takes plenty of blame for whining.

Like most blatantly missed calls in the playoffs (holding, interference, hooking) if it’s not directly impactful on the play, the refs aren’t calling it. You can accept it or whine when it doesn’t go your way.

It was ticky tacky but the big things for Copper to be upset about are his guys let Kadri score 1 on 2 and the main reason his team will likely not get a Cup is the Bolts special teams have been horrendous.

But let him be at a loss for words that a ticky tacky call wasn’t made.

Too many men isn't a judgement call like all of the other penalties you mentioned. There's either too many men or there isn't. I don't think the ref saw too many men and decided "it's the playoffs, I'm not gonna call that". It was just a flat out missed call.

Also, "not directly impactful on the play"? Kadri literally got a 5 second head start on joining the rush and then scored the winning goal. Watch this:

Too many men rarely gets called though just because a guy is dragging his feet getting back to the bench. It usually only gets called if the player going off re-engages the play or touches the puck somehow.

I don't want an NHL where the trapezoid for line changes is painted on the ice.

Needs to be within 5 feet of the bench though. MacKinnon was like 20 feet away when Kadri came over the boards.

Its pretty clear that Kadri thought he was changing for Nischuskin, yet Nichuskin stayed on.

That’s a normal line change away from the puck.

And no, it isn’t impactful. That’s what happens frequently.

Happens all the time. And Colorado just much faster than TB in the OT

Disagree. If MacKinnon was 5 feet from the bench per the rule and skated off, then he has no impact on the play. When he's 40 feet away and begins skating off, whether he plays the puck or not, Tampa's defense has to account for his whereabouts. Along with Kadri who's now fully on the ice and playing the puck, they're having to account for 6 players.

I get that they don't enforce the 5 foot zone rigorously, but MacKinnon was laughably far away from the bench when Kadri came on. If it was 10 feet, then whatever. It was much farther than that.

You just admitted that it’s a judgement call and isn’t enforced as it is written. Like almost every other call.

Even so, there's different levels to judgement calls.

If a player lightly cross checks a player around the net, it's probably not getting called. If a player violently cross checks a player face first into the ice, it's definitely getting called.

Similarly, if a player is 8 feet away from the bench when coming off, then yeah it's probably not getting called. If a player is 40 feet away from the bench - 35 feet farther than the rule states - then it should absolutely get called.

This wasn't even a judgement call though. This was just a missed call.
