Still think Kobe is the clear #3 ahead of him at this point but who knows what the future holds.
Kobe is definitely #3 still by a large margin.

Curry has made a huge run up in the hobby for sure, but aside from his National Treasures RPA and Topps Chrome RC Refractor/Gold Refractor, his other cards of inserts, autos, etc. are still not on the level of Kobe's.

Sounds like an investment scheme.

How much you want to bet that if everyone who has an account tried to withdraw at the same time that there wouldn't be enough cash for people to withdraw?

They would have to be total scumbags to do that.

I would bet a million bucks.....that you are correct.

I need to track how Kobe and Curry comparatively sell in the case hit insert sets I follow. I believe of late they sell pretty close to one another regarding premiums, but I will keep a closer eye on it out of curiosity.

I actually liked the platform in that bidders has to have funds to bid on it so can't back out etc. I suppose this will help weed out some of the shillers - assuming site is legit and there isn't any funny business going on among insiders etc.

In addition to having funds in the account to bid, does anyone know if they allow cash advances for future consignments like PWCC and Goldin? If they don't, that could also be one of the reasons why their auction sale prices are low. On a side note, sports card market will not see another bull run until there is a huge influx of new money as opposed to rotation of money from low-mid end cards to mid-high end cards, which is what is mostly happening right now in my opinion.

You don’t have to have the funds available to bid. I wanted to bid in the previous weekly auction but was hesitant about sending over money. As long as you initiate the ACH transfer, you can bid up to 4x whatever you have sent to your account even before the transfer goes through. Sending over $2100 allowed me to instantly bid up to $8400.

I was only watching the Messi 2004 Mega Cracks BGS 9.5. It sold for $26,400 last night which is almost the same as the sale price at Alt two days. That is almost a 40% drop in one week on that card since a BGS 9.5 sold for 40K at PWCC premier last week. The BGS 9.5's (min gem) were selling for around 65K last year. I was the winning bidder on the BGS 9.5's at Goldin and Alt auctions this week. Hope I am not catching a falling knife.

I am watching the Messi 2004 Mega Cracks BGS 9.5 that is currently up for sale at Goldin. Let's see if it fetches 20-25% more than the Alt sale of 26K.

You certainly nailed this one!

Seems like the bear finally reached the top-end of the market. Interestingly, the low to mid-end seems to be stabilizing.

ME EITHER. I sold a NM++++ Megan Markle card to a guy, can’t remember his name. He had it shipped to ALT. I sent it in a top loader, team sleeve, encased by cardboard and bubble wrap in a box. When he gets it, he tells me a corner is dinged and he wants a refund. He sends me a picture of the ‘ding’.
That’s when I notice that ALT had removed the card from the top loader and put it in a magnetic case, and thus dinging the corner in the process. Despite the fact that the buyer never touched it, a third party did and they clearly handled it, I lost my ebay case.

I'm going to say it's an onlyAlt issue and not a market issue. Sandwiched around onlyAlt sales are significantly higher PWCC and Goldin sales - on two separate occasions.

Of course. And it’s always been this way since Alt entered the picture. When your customer base is that restricted, your realized prices are going to be disproportionately low. It’s not rocket science.
