I don't see Mitchell Robinson being a part of it.

Alec Burks, Trevor Keels, and a 1st round pick would be great

I would not be happy with that return!

That's a terrible trade for the Mavs they are in a win now so that future pick does no good for them. Anything less then Mitchell Robinson I doubt they would even consider it, and that's even if they could consider JB to go along with it.

consider it? Brunson can sign with the Knicks and the Mavs get nothing. He isn't restricted. He is an unrestricted free agent.

Burks has been a 41% 3 point shooter on 2 makes per game the last 3 seasons. can guard wings.

He's looking pretty in shape in this picture and seeing a little definition in his arms. Hopefully he has finally committed to his body and getting in better shape.

sounds like it could end up being 30 mil a year, knicks can go 4 years, Mavs can go 5 years(that's where the sign and trade comes into play).

Looks like it is Brunson to the Knicks at 4 for 100+, still a chance the Mavs get something back but also a chance the Mavs get squat. Maybe they somehow could pull Keels, Grimes, Burks, and the 2023 first rounder back.

Sounds like Brunson is gone. Mavs screwed this up last year, but glad they’re not compounding the mistake. Brunson might find it’s a lot harder to be successful with that dumpster fire of an organization that it was playing alongside Luka.

No income tax in TX high cost of living in NY. He's gambling on his future that he can replicate the success he had in DAL. He'll be playing for a perennial bad team when the Mavs were a series win away from playing for a championship.

The safe and good bet would have been to sign a 4 year contract with Dallas. Play in a system he knows well, and then get paid another lucrative contract in 4 years.

Oh well if he's gone and wants to play with his dad as assistant coach they can't stop him. Depending on the deal it may not be so bad for Dallas long term. I like Brunson but i don't think he's worth 25-30 mil a year.

If he does leave it will open up an opportunity for Hardy. Who was ranked a top 5 player in the country coming out of high school and was supposed to be a lock for a lottery pick if he'd gone to college. But he went to the G league instead and played against grown men for a year. Hopefully that gamble pays off for Dallas and a year in the G league gave him a little bit of a head start playing professional basketball.

He isn't worth the 25 mill a year anyway for a #3 at best I'm glad the Mavs didn't over pay him one of the best moves they could have done.

Luka made him a lot of money. I'm not convinced he's going to be worth that coin with the Knicks. But good for him getting that paper.

I agree, I would have loved to see him stay but was going to be a terrible move for the Mavs to match/overpay for his 1 good season. I don't see him having the same type of success with NY but I could be wrong.

I’m thinking the Mavs will end up signing Dragic. He wouldn’t be bad for them coming off the bench.

Here's an interesting article I found about the possible options the Mavs have with Brunson

Luka generates a ton of attention and makes things easier for most/all guys on the Mavs.

Of course Brunson and co put in work, but Luka makes life a lot easier. I highly doubt Jalen Brunson thinks he got here all by himself, but if he does, he'd be mistaken.

This is true but I think Brunson's free agent heat and the money the Knicks plan to throw at him happened in the first round of the playoffs when Luka wasn't playing. Brunson owned that series.

Yeah it was that first series in the playoffs that made him a lot of money. Good for him cashing in. He was pretty good overall this year averaging a career high 16 PPG. His career avg is only 11.9 PPG though. 25 mil a year seems a bit steep. Good luck to him though.

Sounds like Dallas may sign Dragic as a replacement for JB. Probably his final destination before retirement.

Also in news Dallas and Portland emerging as trade destination for Matisse Thybulle. Not much of a scorer but an elite defender.

That would be a very nice addition.
