The things he's bad at : team defense, positioning for rebounds, screening - are all teachable. He already has what you can't teach: length, rim protector instincts, and ability to shoot 3's at a 38% clip as a 7-footer.
Damn. They're gonna let him go for nothing?

In a way I'm sad, as I wanted him to stay there - but be hard with WCJ and now Banchero in the frontcourt. Still think he'd be useful as starting C with WCJ at PF and then roate in Banchero. The Magic starters last year were fantastic, it was when they went out that things turned to poo.

But on the other hand I'm excited - he might get to start for a bigger market team and blow up.

Yeah his tenure there was weird - seems he never saw eye to eye with the coaching staff. I think he'll do better with a change of scenery, and if he gets with the right developmental staff he has a chance to become very good.

He wasn't motivated at Texas. He wasn't motivated in Orlando. I think he's gonna be a guy who's just happy to get a paycheck and not tap into whatever elite athletic abilities or skills he has.

Good in bursts, not trustworthy on the court for longer than a few minutes at a time. Maybe a team with a great culture could motivate him.

Meh, while I probably would've preferred they extended it to him, I'm not mad about it. He isn't their answer at shooting guard. Outside of bringing energy and effort on the glass, he was bad last year after they traded for him. Especially as a shooter. I'd prefer to see Terence Davis getting his minutes if they can't find someone via trade/FA. Still, surprising given how hard they worked to trade for him (took two attempts to get it done).

classic Kangz move. Just a laughable organization. Get ready for something like a max offer to Bridges or Ayton, then when they decline, an overpay to like Malik Monk.

He’s the type of guy who will finally put together good seasons at age 28, 29, & 30 when he starts to become a man. He just seems too immature at this point.

The Spurs just traded a nice piece, that they got at pick 29, for 3 picks that will be lower than that 1 pick.

Come on now. That's how you do things.

SA are not attracting 2 stars to partner with Dejounte so they can contend.

Tank, tank, tank.

Becky gonna coach them soon?

Bamba's. Lakers should make a strong play for Mo. Potentially a very nice fit (young) with upside

There were rumors last year (2021) before the deadline about him going to the Lakers.

I don’t think the taxpayer MLE will be enough to get Mo, he should be able to find a multi year deal out there somewhere. Lakers don’t have $$ to sign anyone, they are basically playing the vet minimum game again this year which worked so well last year lol

You might be right, but Mo carries some legitimate and well documented red flags. They could knock down his value... Lakers have a 6.5M TMLE

Other guys they could target with that are the 'prove it' players coming off injuries. I like Oladipo the most here, also TJ Warren.

Malik has hinted he would take less to stay with the Lakers (food for thought).

Some other names who I would love for them but are probably much more unrealistic in one way or another in descending order: Bobby P, GPII, Boucher, Hartenstein, Martin brothers, House Jr. But you never know, with what you promise players... starting roles, more playing time etc.

Vet mins were a disaster last year but ones I'd give a pass to this time around would def be: Griffin and Joe Ingles.

T.Bryant is a guy they can prob wait on when the initial rush dies down. Depending on who they go for with the TMLE, that will be their big domino. People are pushing for Otto or Gary Harris but I'm feeling pass...

(Keeping shopping THT)

There isn’t much cap space out there for any team, a good many have the non taxpayer exception. The Lakers definitely have the ability to offer playing time for guys who want a prove it type of deal. Monk sounds like Sactown is pushing hard for him so we will see what happens there.

They should have made the THT move last year but hindsight is 20/20. That $10M contract isn’t as exciting to teams now. But for Lebron’s sake, I hope they can make another run. This will be a big next few days for them.

It really is amazing at times with some of these athletes. You see this happen before drafts as well. Just don't do anything stupid for two months and you will cash in big. Stay off weed and strippers, don't drink and drive, etc, be a good citizen for a month. Shouldn't be tough.

I think Miles will still get max money though.

I wouldn’t have guessed the 30 yr old Tucker I was watching on bad Suns teams would be signing notable contracts into his forties. Nice career he’s put together.

From what I heard, not sure if it's true. Dejounte and his agent had told the Spurs he was not signing an extension with the team. Probably one of the reasons for the trade? Plus if they are rebuilding, they have Primo and Vassell who are up and coming, and younger.

The Process is finally complete!

I'm sure it's smooth sailing from here to an NBA Championship for the Doc, Joel, James, and the 76ers.
