I’ll say Tatum. Better all around game and less injury risk over the long term.

Ja has that Derrick Rose explosiveness you worry about long term so I can see that.

The thing about Tatum is he's quiet. He's never gonna say anything that's gonna ruffle anyone's feathers, he doesn't seek attention. He's the quiet guy kind of like D. Robinson. I actually do appreciate that but at the same time i'd like to see more alpha in him. Seems too passive at times. It's almost like everyone in the world can see how good he is and has all the tools to be the best except him. I mean he's good don't get me wrong but he's got the physical tools, size, body, shooting stroke to be the best player in the NBA. I don't know if he's got enough dog in him though to take it to the next "i'm the best" level.

That being said i still like his overall game a little more than Morant. I think Tatum fits on any team in the league. Plug and play.

Morant if he can play without frequent injuries.

Morant if he's healthy.

Morant is a better player, but Tatum will have the better card career, if that makes sense.

Morant gets hurt quite a bit and won't win anything with the Grizz. Tatum plays for Boston and should be in contention for a title for a while.

Why exactly can he not win with the Grizzlies?

Lol he definitely has the potential to be there every year with Memphis, over the next few years. 1. They have the youngest squad (that’s already competing, mind you) 2. The Grizz won a TON of games without Ja last year. They have a solid roster.

I’m not saying they’re for sure going to win a title but it’s foolish to say, “he’ll never win with Memphis” when they’re literally a top 5 squad in the West

Regarding Ja vs Tatum (which is a lazy comparison to begin with), Tatum has physical attributes that Ja doesn’t possess, but Ja has something Tatum has yet to display: a killer instinct/clutch gene

I'm a big Ja fan, but my gut keeps saying Tatum will have the better career in every aspect of the game. Dude is a top echelon athlete.

Ja's constant drunk posts on IG and Twitter don't give me the confidence that he'll maximize his career potential in terms of both peak and length.

Because it’s a poorly ran franchise. That would be my guess.

Well, they built a number 2 seed in the west from the ground up, have drafted incredibly well, don’t sell off all of their draft picks years down the road for rental players, have one of the best GM’s in the league, took the champs to as many games as the Celtics, but yeah, they’re pretty poorly run.

Bingo - nobody is guaranteeing Memphis will win a ring but they damn sure got a squad that should compete in the West for the foreseeable future. At least as currently constructed.

Nice one year of success. That’s never happened before. Now let’s see if they can sustain that for years and actually win something.

I hate to bring this up but: Memphis is a scarier team without Morant imho. He can get 40 every night and they won’t win a thing until he can stay in front of someone on the other end of the floor.

They sure as heck won a ton against the Warriors after he went down.

In Tre Jones/JJJ we trust.

I think we’ve figured out that it’s a very poorly run organization and Ja sucks. Memphis is in trouble, y’all.

Memphis isn't going to beat some of these teams in the West like the Suns, Clippers, Warriors, and an upstart team like the T-Wolves adding Gobert is huge.

if the Suns land Durant...when Kawhi comes back healthy..i just don't see Memphis really doing much.

We’ll see. Warriors are fantastic, but getting older. The Clippers could be a huge problem if they’re healthy. The Suns are fools gold, and Minnesota has zero depth now. The Grizz remind me of the Warriors when they first started getting going. As long as they keep drafting well, retaining their talent and growing as a team, then they’ll be just as dangerous as anyone.

Jayson Tatum will probably have the better career due to (1) shooting (2) health (3) better teammates and team culture that will elevate his career (4) easier conference though that may change depending on where KD goes (5) size bc it's a wing's league (6) defense which is also due to size.

Just my humble opinion. Ppl who think I'm wrong, feel free to explain why!

Tatum's game will age like fine wine. I know he had a bad NBA final show out. But he was incredible this playoff up until the Final, people were saying he ascended to top 5 in NBA just before the Final. He is only 24, only a few months older than Ja. This is a learning experience for Tatum I assume he will take another leap next season.

This is a tough question and I think it comes down to how well Ja takes care of his body. If he goes the Curry route, he's the best player in the league in three years. If we're watching the new Iverson, we're probably at his ceiling
