Who is the greatest Laker and most representative of the franchise?
Is it someone else besides these three legends? Kareem or Shaq or West? |

Magic Johnson. How is this even a question? He made the franchise a winner with 5 championships his first 9 seasons in the NBA.
LeBron? Lol. |

Kobe easily! Just the old heads say Magic. Magic alone has said several times Kobe is the greatest and you can add iconic Laker of all-time! Magic had another top 5 player of all-time as a teammate! How many titles did he win without Kareem? Come on guys weak conversation.

Study Magic, of course he would say Kobe was the greatest. That is what made Magic the greatest Laker and put him amongst the greatest NBA players of all time (he is massively underrated in the conversation)

Sorry man Magic was a great “team” player not a great scorer did a lot of things good. Lebron is Magic 2.0. Kobe is a far superior basketball player. Silly discussion.

Wasted opportunity to make a poll on who was the bigger star in LA - Kobe or Shaq.

lmao, the ones that constantly do fade aways from 35 feet that hit the rim 1 out of 20 shots while yelling kobe. they hit 1 out of 50 and that makes them feel like the best shooter on the court.

Saying Kobe for the Lakers is like saying Bird for the Celtics or Jeter for the Yankees. They might be to some of the younger fans but are pretty much the wrong answer.

Being a great "team" player put Magic in the Finals nine times in his first twelve seasons, winning five of those times. Maybe this analogy works... Brady is a great "team" player, but not as good as a passer as Manning or Rodgers.

Magic. Magic. Magic.
Not even a debate. What's with the dumb threads on Blowout all of a sudden. |

Without totally disqualifying Kobe, would the Lakers consider marketing Kobe as their franchise man going forward for future generations, as the Yankees never mention Mantle, Gehrig or Ruth anymore, just to appeal to future fans?

Luckily, both football and basketball are team sports, so I'm going to go with the best team player, so it's Magic for me. Much more efficient shooter. It took until his age 36, HIV ridden season to shoot lower than Kobe's highest shooting % year of his career. Nevermind the 11.2 assists per game.
