In sports there are a few. Daniil Medvedev is the #1 ranked male tennis player in the world. There have been quite a few women who have been top players, most notably Maria Sharapova. The aforementioned hockey and tennis seem to have the most that I can think of.

The more I think about it the more this bothers me, what has Russia ever added to pop culture or anything fun for that matter.

I never said any of those were better than American stuff, only that they are very big contributions to world culture that the Russians contributed to.

Yes the American men might be weak but until those Russian women can beat Venus and Serena Williams in tennis they can’t compare, maybe now that they are retiring the Russian women might stand a chance.
