Cool to see this thread revived from the dead. Been a very bad season overall obviously but somehow the Sox are still only 2 games out of 1st. If they play like they are capable of the rest of the way, they might have a chance. Offense needs to be a lot better and a lot more consistent though.

On the other hand, they don’t make it and Jerry is happy. I hate him so much. Jerry Reinsdorf’s alleged advice to Samson was, “Finish in second place every single year because your fans will say ‘Wow, we got a shot. We’re in it!’ But there’s always the carrot left.”

I’m going to the Wed & Thurs games this week. Any advice on Guaranteed Rate Field? Anything I need to make sure to see at the stadium? Best place to eat before a night game? Sitting behind Astros dugout with my wife on Wednesday but I’m going solo on Thursday and can sit anywhere so if there’s any particular section y’all think is best please let me know. Thanks yall

Jerry won’t sell. You’d have to hope he passes, and his kids aren’t complete morons. But look at the bulls, which are run by his son.

I haven't been in a long time but there is one thing I can whole heartedly suggest - take the train, don't drive, to the stadium. Other than that I spent all my time in wrigleyville before and after the game. I don't remember much being by GRF, but this was 10+ years ago so things could have changed. Look on stubhub for tickets first. 99% of the time tickets are cheaper than face. I like sitting behind home plate. 130-135 are the sections I think? Places to see at the stadium? I’m a big fan of the rainbow cone. It’s behind the left left field section. Guest services behind home plate also gives out scorecards. You can bring in your own water up to 1L (could probably be bigger doubt they care). Water is 7 a bottle. I’d take the Metra Rock Island line from LaSalle Street to 35th over the Red Line personally if the times line up. Metra is much cleaner and safer.

I have followed the White Sox closely this season, watching almost every game.
One thing is for certain............... These guys have a GREAT KNACK for blowing games and losing them at the end. As far as I'm concerned, if they don't reel off 7-8 wins in the next 10 games, their season is over. (and they have a series with the Twins next week, where they will be lucky to win 1 game the way they are playing) This has got to be the most disappointing team in all of baseball. (Didn't every "expert" expect them to win their division with ease this year????) I know injuries were everywhere all over the lineup, but what a letdown. ![]()

Blowing games at the end has been a White Sox tradition since the World Series winning team. It’s the Sox way. This year’s team is giving the Robin Ventura-led teams a run for their money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Trainer: Coach LaRussa, Kopech doesn’t look good today…something with his knee. His velocity is way down, and his mechanics are all thrown off. It might cause a hamstring injury.
LaRussa: He’s fine. Tell him to rub some dirt on it and get him out there! 19 pitches and 4 base runners later… LaRussa: Get him outta there! Looks like his knee is messed up. Why didn’t anyone tell me about him?!?!! |

Such a disgrace. From the manager to the coaching and training staff. I just don't know how they can somehow just be so bad at hitting. Pitch recognition and then the approach. My mind hurts thinking how they can even listen to their terrible coaching and actually become such a terrible hitting team.
The game today is all about better plate discipline as well as launch angle. Like it or not, beleive it or not, the good teams just figure it out. Hitting coach ruined them. From ownership that does nor care about actually winning, GM who makes us beleive they are doing the best they can to compete, to coaches who are all around trash, traning staff can't figure out how to actully condition players and prevent some of these things to LaRussa on down they ruined this team. |

Among other things this season can be best summed up as missed opportunities. Last year we won all these close games, this year we are losing all of them.
28 LOB? That’s gotta be close to a record. Last edited by Badgers0821; 08-23-2022 at 09:48 PM. |
