Even if that was an anomaly, this is a pretty big drop. Last few Champ Tix sold for 1.5m in approximately the same grade regardless of whether PSA or BGS. This would be over a quarter of a mil drop. Been tracking the cards and gauging the market carefully as I have one of each (albeit in PSA 8) waiting in the wings for a good auction date.

The Champ ticket was beat for an 8.5. Corners should have been an 8. Edges should have been an 8.5. Surface probably should have been a 7-7.5. So I’d say it was a nice sale.

The PSA 10 has a streaky auto. The $2.88M sale was a 10/10. It’s silly, but some people pay massive premiums to have the absolute best of the best.

Good video breakdown but it appears the card was previously graded as a PSA 6 and with some alterations, it's now a PSA 8 with MBA Gold sticker.

Wow drop from $2.88 million to $750,000 for psa 10 contenders and drop from $1.5 million to $1.2 million for BGS 8.5 championship tickets are huge drops.

There was a certain poster that said I was stupid for selling my 8.5 Championship ticket last summer. In retrospect, I’m pretty happy with the $1.7 I ended up getting.

No one has a crystal ball but I mean ultimately I don’t see how prices will be down in a few years. Now is like a bargain, I’m assuming buyers are seeing it that way, why buy if they think they’ll never be higher?

A contenders (NOT Championship Ticket) at one point sold for $2.8 million? That can’t be right. Any link? That’s more $ than most championship tickets lol

I’m not sure of the “buyers think that way” when it’s clear buyers are paying less and less.

If you think it’s a bargain, grab it but I don’t think we’ve hit the floor yet and I firmly believe it’s going to be much lower than people anticipate.

The amount of manipulation over the past two years is going to be eye opening for some when the pieces start falling. It’s almost no different than crypto, in fact many of the same investors were in on it.
