It was disappointing to see the first 2012 Prizm gold Brady to go up for auction in years was never paid for. But kudos to PWCC for striking the sale from their record. I make sure to keep track of a few cards from each Premier auction to see which cards get paid for after some of the really strong sales. For instance, the 1997 PMG red Jordan ($564k) - paid. The 2005 Topps Chrome refractor Aaron Rodgers PSA 10 ($42k) - paid. Most others from that auction were also paid. It was strange the Brady gold didn't get paid for considering I and others thought it would go for around the $300k mark.
Anyway, I recommend tracking cards you've watched in their sales history. Right after the auction, they will show "payment pending" underneath the sale price and it will disappear once the payment was confirmed. Most times, it takes a few weeks for payments to be processed on large sales, so consider that when scanning the most recent sales.

Only went for about $250k more than it was worth IMO :P I wonder how far down the bidder list you'd need to go to find someone willing to honor the bid?

My bet would be on someone who was going to pay with consignment that saw a precipitous decline in value on the cards they were consigning.
Went lower than what I thought last time. Wonder what it gets this time.

Not that far, I'm sure. I've had a few auctions (all eBay) where I was outbid and lost an auction I really wanted due to me being cheap and prayed I'd get a second chance offer on it. Never happened. At that price level, it's $10k increments, right? I'm not sure how AH's handle that situation, but I think most of them just relist it. We'll see.

Valuing a brady 12 prizm gold at $14k. Lovely. I bet you believe Mahomes golds are worth half a million

Partially. Our entire "hobby" is built upon the greater fool theory. I believe some assets are more overvalued than others, buy basically all of it is overvalued. Does that stop me from paying $1000 for something I think I can sell to someone else at some point for $3000? No, it's how things work, but I do realize the risk and ridiculousness of it all.
