Is this a previously agreed upon payment scenario because of the high sale price?

If yes:

I would insist the 2nd payment comes from the same source as the first. If friends have the ability to move $1000 around then they can funnel it all into 1 account for the intended buyer to make 1 payment to the seller.

If no:

Cancel the deal or insist on a FTF cash transaction.
