I bought one auto and pulled an optic /179. Might buy one more auto. My investment piece is Malik Willis just because I am a Titans fan. Trey did look good last year when he played. If he becomes like Allen in 2-3 years then it's worth it.

Saying Lance has the talent and IQ to be an NFL QB based on one season at NDSU doesn't mean anything.
For what it's worth, I live in Fargo where NDSU is and have watched 5 different quarterbacks lead the team to FCS championships and they have all been great, but none of the others have amazed me the way Trey Lance did. There's a reason he was the first freshman to ever win the Walter Payton Award (often described as the FCS equivalent of the Heisman).

Trey was in his 3rd career start, in horrible weather conditions, without his starting all-pro tight end, and he lost his starting running back, apparently to a significant knee injury.

he'll be fine. if you all want to panic and sell after one game, go ahead, i'll be ready.

Yeah, I don’t know. He looked pretty bad, even with the factors you mention they should have won.

he's playing in his 4th real football game in almost three years and in the middle of a monsoon, which just happened to come down when the 49ers had the ball.

he wasn't great, but he wasn't as terrible as some people are making it out to be. he's going to have terrible growing pains this season, and everybody knows that.

but i think the payoff will be great in the end.

He didn't look ready to me, the 49ers need to decide if they want to win this year because if they do they need to play Jimmy GQ..... Let lance come in for some packages like he did last year and continue to learn the pro game. If they want to start lance the season will be a waste and they will not make the playoffs. No I dont think Jimmy is great but he is serviceable and expendable.

Maybe they want Trey to get the experience right now but if he is thrown out there too early he will never learn to read defenses, he will instead lean too much on his running ability to get him out of trouble. It has worked out in the past but not at a high clip, and not with someone as raw as he is.

If he is the future as the 49ers QB I think they should protect their investment and not rush him into being the starter to sell some jerseys and tickets.

IMO.

(for the record I pulled one nicely centered Silver prizm of his and would like him to mature and become successful)

He maybe the future but 52 other guys want to win now. He wasn’t even voted in as captain by the players finishing 7th in voting. 7th? Wow

Which speaks volumes in the locker room. Everyone on that team knows Jimmy took them to 2 NFC Championship games. Having him ride the bench, in favor of the kid, probably doesn't sit well with many of them.

Can't really say anything about Trey until maybe week 8... give the kid a chance before you throw him in the garbage

Don’t think we can judge either QB based on this game. Terrible field and weather conditions. Next week we can act like we’re better than them and can do the things they do. Next week

That Jimmy G contract was a big flashing warning sign. Jimmy could've demanded his way out but looked around and said "hmmm, I'll take my chances staying, thanks."

Jimmy G is heading to the Cowboys. I think the signing one year was a decoy to trade him and get something out of him while they can. Dak is out for 6-8 weeks, it looks like trade is in talks. Trey didn't look great but who does in a monsoon and a field with 3 inches of water. Fields did lol

If Lance played well maybe but Lance crapped the bed then rolled in it. I can't see any way SF trades Jimmy. Possible by 3-4 games in Lance gets benched if he plays that way again.

We will take Lance instead, since everyone hates him and he is trash, play Jimmy and send Lance to the Cowboys! Thanks!

Not sure why all this love for Lance. he played one season of college ball his Sophmore year. Then Covid happened did not have a Jr year went pro then 1st year in NFL barley played. Having played one full year in the last 4 years makes me think the kid is a big gamble to develop.

And look at where he played college ball. Not the bastion of high caliber competition.
