Basically, it's no longer cost effective for anyone to submit cards you want to buy. Because they can't really make a profit on it at a 50 cent submission and sell it for a price you'd think is reasonable.

Yes!! That pretty much says it all:
.50 submission fee
.25 to the seller and he only gets .24 and that is for what I think are the cheap cards.
.25 handling fee
$1.00 that I pay and shipping. I wait until I get a lot of cards then ship.

Most of the cards I want are not worth the time and effort for most sellers.

I have joined a lot of other sites trying to trade/buy but run them out of Huskers cards really fast. I have listed here some of my wants but only get guys wanting to sell the high dollar stuff as that is where the money is.

So all I really can do is keep looking and rise what I'm willing to spend. Then hope I run across a few great deals.

And quit complaining about the prices just live with it!!!

Wanting people to pay up front fees and lose money for you to be able to buy cards on your couch and then complaining when they don't lose money for you to get the cards you want is a very entitled take on life.

If you buy a card from someone for $1 the seller makes 18 cents.

Boy!! I really triggered you. Just to let you know I have purchased cards from you also and I will not say anything about you.

Yes!!! COMC get most of it. Submission fee - Plus Handling fee - Plus 5% of sale Plus - shipping fee (which is not in the $1.00) I used the $1.00 amount just for an example to show if someone want around .25 for a card. (who knows what they have purchased it for) Now a days .25 is not worth it to many people.

How do you figure that the seller only gets .18 Are you figuring in what it cost him to send in the card?

Entitled NO I stated When I trade or sell, I'm doing it to help other collectors with their collections.

A lot of these cards have been submitted before the fee of .50. I know for sure a lot of them have been sold through ports so the profit for some sellers is higher as there is no submission fees for them. Some of the cards have Item number that are under 10 million, so they have been here a long time. Some of the cards have not sold and shipped in the last 4 years. I never asked the seller to lose money as I do not know what they may have into it. Some may have only a cent or two into the card I do not know.

Then I look at the card I want (for a $1) and then look at the other cards in that set and see better players prices are .50 sometimes even lower. These prices are with .25 handling fees.

As I said before Maybe I do not know what a fair price is any more.

Yes my wife has told me she will burn the cards when I die. Do I believe her? She has not lie to me in 54 years so yes.

The 50 cent fee really hurts profitability of lower-priced cards, yet people will still send in mass amounts of commons that can be found on site for far less than the 50 cent fee.

If not selling first, give them to the kids or piece-out as gifts to friends. Better than chancing a bonfire.

Since your collection is built around a single theme, contact the school and see if their Archives would want it bequeathed in your will. That's what I'm going to do with some of my Georgia Tech items.

If I submit a card and pay 50 cents for it, sell it for 50 cents then I receive .475 cents. Of course I also had to pay shipping and handling to get it to COMC. Another 1-5 cents per card.

The COMC .25 fee does not affect my earnings at all. That is a transaction between COMC and the buyers.

Perhaps they werent that cheap when they were sent it. Perhaps they didnt want to bother screening their submissions. I know Ive spent many countless hours checking prices to see what was worth submitting.

For the first time in many submissions, COMC has stored my cards remotely which I definately do not like. Has this ever happened to any of ya'll? I sent the cards from a U.S. Location. I don't know about you, but I wont' even consider purchasing a card remotely so am pretty chuffed my cards are outside the main storage facility and would be less attractive to potential buyers

They are just completing the process of imaging and cataloging the cards from another location close to their main storage facility. They did this to mine and within a week, typically even less than that, they are in my vault ready to ship. I buy these cards all the time.

Yes Crazy that is what I think!! I plan on collecting until I die.

They were going to one of my nephews as he was the only one that is into cards. He passed away and I got all of his cards (160,000). Did not make the wife very happy but she understand. I started collecting with my son, but he does not have any interest in collecting anymore. I tried to contact Nebraska U but never got a rely. I have three people's address and information that would take them at what price I do not know. Plus several others that would take them free. The wife knows about them. But will she do it who know as she keeps saying they will make a nice big fire.

I have learned a lot in my years buying on COMC:
1. Do not jump on the 1st card listed of the new sets. They do drop for the most part but may take a while.
2. So many different sellers with different ideas about pricing. My nephew (he was not on COMC). If he did not get top dollar he would not sell. That is why I got so many cards. Which appears that some COMC sellers are that way also.
3. Who will accept an offer and who will not (even thou you can make offers)
4. Sellers that will raise their prices if you make an offer so they can get their asking price. Yes there is more the one we all know about.
5. Sellers that appear not to pay attention to their prices. No sales or taking offers and prices the same for long amount of time.
6. If the price is at or close to what I'm willing to pay. Do not make an offer and jump on it.
7. Do not think COMC sales will get you the best prices. I have picked up cards before and after their sales at better prices.
8. You get better deals at the mid-range of cards then at the low end. This goes back to submission fees being where they are.
9. There are sellers just trying to get rid of cards and prices are really low. Too bad they only on a few that I need, but when I do I check out all of their cards.
10. There are people who sent in cards that there are a lot of them already listed and prices below submission fees. We all wonder about why they do this.
11. Some sellers which are here (and other sites) take offers personally. I see a lot of people complain about low ballers. Never understand that just move on. I'm not sure if I'm blocked by any sellers because of some of my offers.
12. There are a lot of cards that have very low Item Numbers. One card I find was just over 1 million. So COMC has been storing them for a long time.

Yes I complain about prices that I have to pay for cards I need.
As I sell the cards, I got from my nephew I sell them way to cheap just to move them out of the house to make the wife happy. She loves it when I go to the PO with a big box. That is why I have a little extra money now and been looking harder and feeling more frustrated. I did have some that should sell even with the .50 fee and give me more credit to buy. Just have not done it yet as I would have to put more money into my account. Just a catch 22 add money and buy now or add money and wait to sell before buying. As of now I am looking at doing both.

My way of thinking and buying is: 10 cards at $1.00 each is better that buying one card for $10.00. The old saying "More the Merrier"

The package is showing as delivered on USPS, however, it does not show that anyone signed for it, which has always been the case for me. The first thing that was odd was that the package was delivered less than 24hrs after was put in the mail from WI to WA! It usually takes 3 days minimum for me to send and receive from there. Thoughts?
My understanding is they do not have anybody to sign for packages over the weekend. However they'll likely get delivered on Monday/Tuesday and show as signed for shortly afterwards.

I had a similar issue for one that would have been delivered on a Saturday.

Thanks for the offer. I will check them out. I have looked at your listings before and only find a few.

In fact, I normally check out most members here that shows their COMC ID. There was a time when I tried to buy from members here.

I have a package that was supposed to be delivered to comc last week.

It says awaiting delivery scan as of 9/7. Anyone ever seen this?

Does COMC confirm they received a package? Been a long time since I submitted

Very happy I’ve started browsing the site again. Bought about a dozen low end but super neato cards that would’ve bordered on what I consider mid end card prices on eBay.

Sellers even seem to reply to offers faster than they do on eBay.

Anyone have a general rule of thumb for how long they wait to finally request shipment?

They usually send an email letting you know they received your submission. At best after 2-3 business days, but maybe 4-5 days at most.

Hey all,

I have 4 1800 count boxes of refractors, inserts, GU, SPs, RCs, autos, and some vintage. If I send to COMC, when do I get charged submission fees? Honestly, thinking of submitting everything except my Heritage and vintage PCs but wondering how steep and when the submission fees will be charged relative to how fast I can sell...

Thanks!
