The Julio blue auto that sold yesterday was relisted. Only 5 Julio autos have hit eBay. No base. Looks like base is SSP or might not exist at all.

Yeah. I actually thought he wouldn’t be SP. He really hasn’t been SP in anything else yet. Series 2 and 2021 best people seemed to pull his autos left and right.

yeah, I’ve probably opened close to 3 cases of ‘21BB and hit 5 Julio autos

Agree 100% with everything you said there. I've always enjoyed Heritage, for the price it's hard to beat and LOVE the on card red inks too! Had a good laugh at the breakers/pumpers profitz comment.

I feel like just the year in general has pissed off a lot of collectors with the lack of rookies we're all dying for and expected to be in Series 2, TC, etc. only to be let down. The 5 missing SP's for TC was the last piece to ignite the powder keg. I could be wrong but take Kwon and Suzuki for example. I believe both were opening day roster players? Yet here we are and neither have a RC in TC or Series 2. IF the update series are just as bad and missing expected RC's it might be defcon 1

These are all valid questions. My takes below.

1) I would guess that given the current card market and how Topps and Fanatics priced the product, the presales were not where they were projected to be. Given the large amounts of cash Fanatics coughed over for the license and Topps, there is probably a lot of pressure to hit projected sales targets.

2) I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it would be a lot higher with the ESPs included than not. Particularly if their presales were lagging, there could have been added pressure to increase sales. Not including the ESPs would kill post-checklist sales.

3) I would think it isn't worth it, but for Topps maybe it was. What is going to be the blowback from this? People will yell but will eventually line up for Chrome update. Given the monopoly Topps/Fanatics has on licensed cards, what are consumers' alternatives?

Either the ESPs were left out of boxes because of QC issues, or they were fraudently added to the checklist to sell product. Either explanation seems unlikely but here we are.

Topps has becoming increasingly brazen since the lost licenses as demonstrated by Bowman's Best, Bowman Heritage, the laughably small rookie icon on the Series 1 cards, and now Topps Chrome. Complete disregard for their customer base. What other industries could a company continually make blunders of this magnitude and not address it publicly?

I don't know if this has been mentioned or if it's true of any other players, but there seems to be both live autos and redemptions for Jovani Moran. His base auto is on ebay as well as redemptions for it and there's a mix of both for the parallels too.

I know most of you don't care about that player, but it's interesting and might give more insight into what is going on with this product.

Both live AND redemption autos for the same player implies Topps bumped up the print run partway through the signing process and couldn't get some guys to sit for a second round, right? You'd think they'd send out the cards all at once instead of in waves.

He probably didn’t return all the cards or cards were damaged and couldn’t be packed out. It’s happened before and I doubt something nefarious is going on.
