Reason #1001 why they're not rc's... Beckett does not pass the two poops test.

Lol. I can't believe, even now, "because Topps said so" works for people. Why? Why aren't we actively trying not to submit to anything Topps says? The checklist, for real? The checklist that includes cards that weren't even put in the packs? So weird.

I think he is referring to BB21, the minor league third year prospect cards that were accidentally numbered as part of the veteran set.

No, it was a response to questioning the RC status of 221-225. They are in fact on the Topps checklist with a little "RC" next to their name, and Bcr thinks that carries some weight.

If they are actually included in retail packs, then I agree. If they're not, I think it's real iffy.

They are still rookie cards, just not a real part of the original complete set.

Just like rookie cards from panini Promo packs.

He's hitting .264/.306/.387 well below his rookie season, kind of hard to hype that up.

We're on two different planets regarding this topic. I think the guy who originally asked the question was asking from the hobby definition perspective, not whatever perspective would consider a Panini Promo a rookie card.

You're most likely to see silver packs in happy meals at your local McDonald's drive thru or maybe inside boxes of Lucky Charms

But never in a Topps licensed MLB product.

I don't think the SP's were supposed to be that short print anyways.

We have literally NO idea how many packs are going to be made, nor how many of each SP is supposed to be made.

They mention nothing about parallels as well.

I don't know, I read it as they are inserting 2 of the random 5 SP's into these packs and distributing them.
If you think there should be 2 sp per box, that would make them more common than the rest of the base cards negating any notion that theu are SPs at all.

I know a Scrub when I see one. No need to list Scrub O'Neil Cruz TC auto cards for what they are.

Cruz hits the ball hard into outs. Cute .221 batting average tho.

This is probably my favorite topic ever. Starts off with Topps Chrome, moves to Bowman's Best, then back to Chrome....I've enjoyed every single response...

Well, in fairness he only hits the ball at all about 60% of the time. 40% are strikeouts.

But didn't Cruz hit a baseball like 168 mph or some s!@#?
Exit velocity. I wonder what exit velocity was recorded as Wander exited the golden circle of hobby goodness this summer?
Analytics matter!!!!
