This has to be one of the dumbest things you've ever posted and continue to post. I think the Giants President knows a lot more about baseball than you or me.

Nope, rando JV knows much more than a President of an MLB team.

And what would they be if Judge wasn't raking during that time? 7-27?

The fact is he has faced a higher amount of pressure and was more valuable to the Yankees during that difficult stretch than Ohtani has been to a crap team playing with zero pressure.

This "President of Baseball Operations" presides over one of the richest teams in baseball yet has missed the playoffs 3 of his 4 seasons and had a stinker NLDS exit in the 4th. His opinion is worth jack. He likes winning teams because that's what he couldn't build himself

Yeah, not sure, I threw an old Judge up there as well...I've deleted the app for now.

Please, enlighten us, how does "knowing a lot about baseball" equate to "having a more valid opinion on what the word 'valuable' in 'most valuable player' should mean"?

I'll wait. But I won't hold my breath.

We need more obscure stats to pump.

Runs given up prior to rain delays in August!

Baserunners advanced into scoring position during night games!

Amount of pitchers in HS who can’t hit!

I would think the president of baseball operations for a multi-million dollar MLB team that usually does well (but has had some tough years lately) has just a little more knowledge of the game than a rando member of blowout who's username is modeled after his favorite player?

and I like JVerlander---he has good insight.

Just hazarding a guess here.

He hasn't done well. He's been in the position since 2018 and made the playoffs once. With a team as rich as the Giants, that is epic failure. Might as well ask the Pirates GM for trade advice

I'm happy to concede that the president of baseball ops for the Giants likely has more knowledge of the game than any given Blowout poster.

But did you actually read my post? Because this is the question I actually asked:

How does that make his opinion on what the word 'valuable' in 'most valuable player' should mean - when it isn't defined anywhere in any official way - any more valid?

Comparing the Giants to a team that hasn't won the world series since 1979 is laughable.

Given he's a high level executive of a MLB team, I'm guessing he has knowledge and probably associates with several writers/voters who actually determine the outcome of the MVP voting?

And I'm sure the 17 ESPN writers who all voted for Judge as the MVP even before his 60th home run don't know anything either.

Your September AL Player of the Month (for the 3rd time this season) Aaron Judge. From the MLB press release:

Quote:
• The four-time All-Star batted .417 (35-for-84) with 26 runs scored, eight doubles, 10 home runs, 17 RBI, 30 walks, a stolen base, a .565 on-base percentage and an .869 slugging percentage over 25 games played.
• The 30-year-old hit his 61st home run of the season on September 28th at Toronto to tie Roger Maris for the all-time single-season American League record.
• Recorded an 11-game hitting streak from September 8th-21st, including seven multi-hit efforts. Hit .500 (22-for-44) with five doubles, five homers and 10 RBI during the impressive stretch.
• The two-time Silver Slugger Award winner delivered his fourth four-hit game of the season on September 18th at Milwaukee, which included his 11th multi-homer performance of the campaign.
• The California native enters play today leading the AL with 61 home runs and 130 RBI, while his .311 batting average ranks second behind Minnesota’s Luis Arraez (.315) in his pursuit of an American League Triple Crown.

Probably already brought up but now buried so I clicked around enough to figure it out:

Judge batting against Ohtani this year: 2-for-2, Single, Home Run

For anyone wondering.

I thought I saw the job “president of operations: MLB team” posted on Indeed. Only asked for level of baseball played up to and BO user name.

Most of these people would flinch if a ball was even thrown their direction. But all smarter than someone who’s done it in real life. Reminds me of the Raiders’ GM.
