I might be wary of buying the higher end autos if they're raw but those are the only ones. I think a lot of people bought these just for the quick flip and are happy with the huge returns that raw is giving right now. Maybe in a few months raw might mean a little more IMO.

Crazy good sale considering a lot of the other tennis stuff sold like half price - (2x) Federer PSA10s sold for around 600 a PSA 9 Serena Patch/100 sold for 700, the Nadal glossy - 4200 -- All After Buyers Premium. The recent negative stock market run had an effect for sure.

Another one up for bid - PSA 8/auto10 again, but multi-colored patch. https://www.ebay.com/itm/26590547350...424.m570.l5997

Any guesses on where this eBay one ends at? I think this is more desirable than the 32K+ Goldin PSA 8 because of the dual color patch. Right now it's around 10K with about 24 hours left. I think it'll shoot up in the end with all the last second snipes. I'll guess 27K which was the hammer price on Goldin before the 20% buyer's premium.

I think 22k? The hype simmering down a bit & the 1st one was a novelty... But this is nicer.

I think this one is nicer than the Goldin one on both condition and patch. I'm sticking w/ 27K as the SGC 9 with the 45K ask apparently sold today at a high price outside of eBay. My guess is this would cross to a SGC 9. We'll know in about 2 hours

$17.7k and I was the only bidder tonight (other than the winner) it appears.

Takes some gumption to list a Monday night auction ending at 11 PM est a little under a month since Alcaraz won. Tennis sales have been dragging recently besides Alcaraz now that other sports are taking the limelight until the Australian. Not to mention the dismal stock situation which is weighing down the overall card market, save for some outliers. Still a solid sale imo - around 19k with tax included.

Cause for concern?
He lost in the Round of 32 to #66 ranked David Goffin at the Astana Open. He lost that one match about a week after the US Open... that one was understandable since it wasn't much time off between matches. Is this something to be concerned about? |

Goffin had been a solid top 20 player for a long time until recently and has a game style that can trouble a powerful, if slightly impatient, player like Alcaraz. Goffin is going to get a ton of balls back and make players earn every point and Carlos is used to overpowering everyone. Goffin's ranking is a bit deceiving. He's not your standard #66 in the world.

I'd say no too. Alcaraz still has room to grow and is less than a month removed from winning the title. Since he is 19, he will have some puzzling losses and probably won't reel off several Grand Slams next year. I think he will be dominate in a couple of years though after he settles in more and Djoker and Nadal grow grey beards.

Just sent my /500s to PSA economy grade, Victory and Action. I'm sure we're bound to see more of these pop up, as they had that delay after release. I'm not too concerned about the drop-off atm. There has been sales of 400-600 on the /500. My questions is of these do you all think the Victory vs. Action which will be more sought after?

Yeah I like this one a lot too. Surprised it's only at 7500 now. Feels like a lot of cards have been bid up hard already on Goldin like that Justin Herbert PSA 10 at 180K before premium. Was all the action on the PSA 8 Alcaraz near the end?

Got my /50 auto patch graded. PSA 8/9 auto. Not surprised, but it's rough - these 8s are pretty clean. And the auto is like every 10 . Will post pictures when it comes back... PSA trying to upcharge me 2,400 based on original goldin auction. The most recent eBay listing of 17.7k hasnt been paid so they can't ratchet down my grading fee until that is an official sale. Giving it to Monday to hopefully have that listing paid. Otherwise I'm eating an extra 1.2k. Should've waited, but hindsight is 20/20.

Sorry man, that's rough and a bit absurd with a $3K grading fee. (assuming you did the $600 option and then a $2,400 charge on top?). Agreed that hindsight is 20/20 especially on these thick patch cards. At this point, it's definitely best to keep these sealed in the original netpro case.

It's all good, I just needed to whine lol. That's the reality of grading a higher value card with PSA, and it was in the back of my mind that I could be charged more. Just to clarify, I submitted at the 1200 level and they are most likely charging 2400 total (+ shipping & taxes) unless the most recent eBay sale gets paid this weekend.
For anybody thinking ab grading with PSA, hold for now until the price stabilizes around the high teens low 20s during the next few months. That way you are subject to the 1200 charge instead of 2400. Question is how the market values a PSA 8 vs a BGS 9 or SGC 8.5 or 9 for this particular card. PSA pop right now is 1(6) 2(7) 5(8) and 1(9) w/ auto grades split between 9 and 10. The auto grade is most likely a coin toss considering how consistent the signature looks from card to card. Quote:
