After 18-24 months of listening to the moon bois (where did these opportunists/vultures snake back to after reaping their profits?) they mistakenly thought a hobby would make them wealthy.

Same thing happened in the ‘90s.

A lot of negativity here, on Twitter, and YouTube as of late around shows.

Chantilly is 5 days away and I’m excited

I sighed because the guy’s table was a mess with cards thrown everywhere and nothing was priced, and most of what the guy had was the mass produced stuff. I was trying to help out a friend find older products and vintage.

Yeah saw a lot of Acuna Topps Update RC’s PSA 10’s for 200-300, aren’t they like 50 now.

Yikes. It’s one thing to miss or even cast aside a comp on a rare item and hold for your price. Acuna updates should be something you’re either competitive with or leave at home.

I'd say most shows are probably going to hum along okay so long as it's not one of the big ones.

Its the big shows that showed up in 2019-2022 that will be in the most trouble. Small shows will keep humming right along.

When do you guys get tired of speculating on this stuff? I mean when it's the same 10-12 people unless they are trying to write the Bill of Rights there's really nothing else to be discussed.

Just hit pause for a second and wait a couple months dudes.

Chantilly was busy today. Lots of pelican cases, kids, and dealers saying they’re not able to take a loss. Saw some booths buying a ton of inventory (some board members here).

I bought/traded into 5 cards

Default Observations on the current state of the hobby from a show this weekend

Today was quite busy. A lot of Peli-bois trying to swing deals, a good amount of kids, and lots of good conversation. Learned a lot from vintage dealers. An incredible amount of people trying to sell to dealers and unfortunately many modern dealers not wanting to accept reality with the current market.

Chantilly is my home show and it blows my mind every time I go. I have a blast no matter what.

Went to the Albany show today, good turnout at the show. I actually was able to sell something, I sold off my Julio Rodriguez clearly authentic auto for decent money. As far as me buying it’s the worst show I ever been to, I spent 10 today and 5 of that was to get in. I buy anything and this guy has upper deck young guns and other stuff and go to the guy is this best price and said yep, the guy was asking 125 for a Jack hughes yg when they are 70 on eBay. Keep your prices high that’s why you don’t move anything. I am likely done with shows for the year outside of maybe one.

This will be most show attendees over the next 12 months. Lots of people showing up, nobody actually buying w/ cash. Tons of dealers sticking to 2021 prices. Attendees wanting to sell or trade to dealers (that aren't buying) out of their peli's.

LMAO!

I know a guy who left one of the most respected positions in the music business to go work at a monkey pic company. I should check and see if he’s on a ledge somewhere
