That being said.... I guess he is "back on the market" in the sense that separated people are generally permitted to move on in their lives before the paperwork has been finalized.

Looks like you're burying your head as you don't want to believe it / admit you were wrong.
She filed today. She hired an attorney four weeks ago. They've already finalized the terms of the settlement, which TB isn't contesting. They've both posted to their IGs.

Admit I am wrong about what? There are conflicting reports and my policy is to generally believe nothing when I first read it.

I don't buy anything I read on the internet until time has passed. It is a philosophy that has served me very well.

I am not saying any of the above is wrong, I am just saying that to go from "hiring an attorney" to "divorce finalized" in 4 weeks time is extraordinarily fast (even when no one contests it).

I have no problem believing the divorce has been finalized (I am actually glad to hear it because I think finalizing the darn thing makes it less of a distraction), but man that was quick.

I imagine they would. It is probably is a standard agreement where each party keeps whatever they brought into the marriage and whatever they individually earned during the marriage. At that point - and given that they already agreed to joint custody of the kids - all you really have to do is figure out how to divvy up any property bought jointly.

Believe what? I hope it is true that the divorce is final and it sure looks that way. I don't know why so many people in here got so bent out of shape for me saying that, as a rule, I generally wait a while before I accept things I read on teh interwebz as being true.

For example, just a couple days ago, TMZ reported Jerry Lee Lewis died. Then they had to issue a retraction because their reporting was inaccurate. Then it became official that he died this morning.

TMZ obviously knew something was going on but, as happens so often in today's media, they jumped the gun a bit. Anyone who believed the initial report fell for something which, at the time, was misinformation.

Follow up:

I just read the court filing and court order and yes, there is generally a minimum 20 day waiting period between filing for divorce and having it granted in the state of Florida. However, Giselle requested they waive the 20 day waiting period and, apparently, the Judge agreed in the interest of helping each party retain a degree of privacy. I would be willing to wager that cost an extra fee....

Believe me, these things do not go so quickly for Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public.
