PSA standards - How the F is this a 6 (not my card)

Im not sure what to even say about this. I have a version of this card that has a tiny tiny dot on it and got a 6 instead of a 9. This disaster gets the same grade. What world are we living in?

It gets the "very nice condition for a parallelogram" bump.

These are generally data input errors. I once had a VG-EX 76 Payton come back a '10', along with a VG-EX 79 OPC Gretz come back an '8', and in both cases PSA told me it was a mistake, had me send the cards back in and gave me some vouchers.

These things happen. It doesn't bathe the QA departments in glory-- particularly now, where they're taking 1-2 months to push an order through-- but it is what it is.

PSA gave his Jordan a 10 that should have been maybe a 6, so anything is possible. Lol.

I heard it was NAT card of Luke skywaker but he only gets 10’s on cut up Jordan’s.

So must’ve been a friend or insider with psa

Everyone else gets 8’s and 9’s

I am really wondering if PSA is using more automated grading, especially with centering. All of the automated grading models I have seen, do an absolute pi$$ poor job of cards with tilt. They just through vertical and horizontal lines that best fit the borders and calculate this way. HGA and Arena Club both don't deal well with any type of tilted borders.

Don't they have not 1 but 2 QA steps to check for that?

The first QA stage is for reviewing grades.

QA2 is for checking labels and the actual slab. Ive seen some recently graded slabs that had cracks or other imperfections.

Thankfully. If they were more aggressive theyd bump down half of all 10s instead of just 5-10%.

I think QA is done based on the confidence score the AI has in grading. Not working great.

When was this card graded? Nobody knows if this was graded by AI, and if it was, some HUMAN should have visually noticed it.

It seems weird to blame such an egregious error on AI without any support for that.
