Buyer question. Items stored remotely. If I choose economy shipping, does it add ADDITIONAL couple of weeks, or are they obtaining the remote cards within the normal time frame? Or does anyone know?

It depends. Some cards that are newly listed are processed offsite and take a day or tow to get sorted in the warehouse and available to be collected for shipping. If the item number shows that the card was listed very recently, it will probably be available very quickly. You can get a good idea of that by picking a popular sport and sorting by Recently Added cards. Pick a few with only one or two cards listed and see what the highest item number is (seems to be 1282XXXXX at the moment).

If the number is significantly lower than that, it might well take extra time, although it's best not to expect economy shipping to arrive too quickly in any case as that is the first to get pushed back when volumes are high. We (thankfully) seem to be past the 2020-21 operational backlog that led to economy shipping often taking 4-5 months. But even at times with no reported delays on this thread its probably safer not to use economy shipping if you actively need to get your items in the next month.

Seems like we are after all getting a pre black Friday sale starting tomorrow. No word on either the blog or twitter, but I have a banner on my dashboard to set up a free sale running from tomorrow through Sunday 20th.

Have to say I'm not a fan of the extended November sale period they started last year, which just seems to dilute interest in the sale relative to the 4 day blitz and last year appeared to cause buyers to hold off hoping for bigger discounts after Thanksgiving. Especially with very little notice being provided to either buyers or sellers. With so little notice of this being given to sellers (and even less to buyers), feels like the start of the sale tomorrow will be particularly underwhelming.

Does "FREE" sale mean they don't charge the seller for the sale, AND they don't charge any extra % of each card that is sold during the "FREE" sale?

Sales are so crappy these days.

Go Bass!

"Free" means you don't pay the $1 per 10,000 cards sales fee. Everything else remains the same. (correct me if I'm wrong)

Thanks for the response. I buy quite a bit and always use economy, was more just curious if it added to the "economy" time.

Would've been nice if we had gotten more than 12 hours notice to prepare

And yes, the only fee for this sale is the transaction fee 5%

There is already a 5% transaction fee for all non-sale transactions.

During the sale, is the 5% on top of the already existing 5%? 10% total fee?

Or is it just 5%.

So the sale is free, then. Right?

As a buyer I have been preparing for this sale for over a month. Checking and double checking my watch list. Seeing what prices they are and if they went up. Sale is not all ways a sale. Listing cards that I want the most and a price I'm willing to pay.

I'm wondering what that 5% Back Store Credit is??? buyer / seller??? Or like last year You spend $50 or more you get 5% store credit.

Chatted with Vy on their chat line. (11/10/2022) He stated they know it was getting close to Black Friday and would post it when they were ready to.

It is just like a normal sale. 5% transaction fee. No promotion fees. No listing fees.

I requested a 170 card economy shipment on 11/4. It shipped on 11/11. Take that for what it's worth.

It is going to be very interesting to look at my watch list. I pretty much know what the 1st 300 cards are. Priced lowest to highest. Just wondering how much they will move around. They moved around a little last week not as much as they did a year ago.

Does COMC offer free listing every year around Christmas or was the last year promotion a one-time only thing?

Are you talking about the 50c eBay auction listing promotion they did last year? I'm curious to know whether they are going to repeat that.

Nah they did a one time free listing for elite and select last year, I’m guessing trying to showcase the service. Would be surprised to see it again, but maybe?

Side note, they just teased their BF sales, another year with free shipping and 5 percent back to buyers.

It was a one-time thing. Doubt they will repeat it, but you never know.

Thanks, I'll wait till early December to see if they offer the same promotion again, since I'm not in any hurry to list cards.

The remote cards I have purchased lately are turning around in a day or two so it is possible I had a couple. Couldn't tell you for certain.

I put the price of the card and who the seller is in my notes inside my watch list for each card. That way I know when the price changes and if someone else bought the card in hopes to flip.

I haven't purchased anything fromCOMC since like 2018. For the holidays do they do any sales for people buying cards? Do they do like buy so much in store credit and get a bonus? Do they knock a percentage off of all cards? If so when are they doing it?

Yes, they usually have a sale from about now until Cyber Monday. There will be 2000 sellers or so putting their cards on sale. Free shipping for all cards bought and shipped during the sale, it looks like. Plus, you'll get 5% of your purchases rebated back to you in store credit once the sale ends.

They usually do another one in May or so called Spring Cleaning.

Here is the direct link to sales:
