And not only that -- but another 2018 Prizm WC Blue 10 sold only a few weeks ago for over 13k, lol. Bidders all over the place on this card, lately.

That said, this still might not be the bottom. Unless France win it all again. Potentially an opportunity to buy the dip.

You had to be pretty naïve to think waiting for the World Cup was a great idea for prices. As with any known event in life (or the markets) you make your profit in the run up and then watch as everyone else dumps at once and sinks the market once the event arrives. The only real decent prices I see at the moment is for WC Prizm singles and that is fuelled purely by fomo.

As an aside I think we're grossly exaggerating how many people collect soccer, and collect soccer constantly. For example, there appears to be less than five Thomas Muller collectors in the whole world (I'm one of them) and I only ever see the same couple of faces. Similar goes for the likes of Luka Modric.

There's a sea of sh1t and only a few sailors.

his ultra high end sell for $30,000+

Kabooms have settled at around $8500

seems about right to me in a trading card market that is considerably smaller than Baseball, Basketball and American Football.

It's just really bad timing:

- Tons of people waited for the WC to unload their cards
- Market is going through a strong correction for a few months
- Inflation is still high and a recession is looming - if not here (US)
- Panini and Topps are flooding the market faster than it can catch up

That being said, SSP Mbappe cards seems like a good bet for the long term. He has more goals than CR7 and as many as Messi and he's not even 24. He could end up in the Top 5 of World Cup goalscorers at the end of the tournament.

Sooooooooo thrilled to get this one in...

Only 101 total Made (90 Base, 10 Green, 1 Black). His most limited World Cup base card and so hard to find one. Have been able to build up a decent Mbappe PC, I think this may be my favorite now

I’m surprised his prices haven’t seen more of a run up during the WC but it’s tough for every sport. For example I won a Prizm blue /199 Jalen Hurts psa 9 RC this summer before football started for $210 at auction. In the midst of a possible MVP season, on a 10-1 team and rabid fan base that same card sold last night at auction for $240.

I love it! A Topps NOW equivalent.

It's been great that people have been overlooking these types of cards, but with them gaining in popularity, it's getting tougher to pick up the better/best ones. Congrats!
