I completely understand that, and I’ve certainly received more stinkers than great gifts…but, it’s about giving and I enjoy shopping for a stranger once a year.

I mean, kind of glad that you don’t since it sounds like you miss the point of this. The person I bought for posted their gift and they seemed to like it which made my day.

Sorry I do not miss the point of giving that’s one of the reasons I prefer not to join I prefer giving without expecting anything in return. It wasn’t the person who received the gift that complained it was other people involved. I am not downplaying the great job and effort jlzinck puts into this every year but it is just not for me, most people seem happy so I will view that as a plus.

Just wanted to confirm to my secret Santa my package did arrive. I had it sent to my parents house as I live in the city and my mail can be a little weird at times. My parents did confirm it has arrived. Just haven’t had the time to make the 45 minute drive up to grab it.

Odds are once I have the time to go up and grab it and bring it back to my apartment, I will open it as I have zero self control

Whats the point of this post other than to start drama? Im sure everyone involved was just on pins and needles all month waiting for you to come in and tell them why you dont join.

So u thought to just drop your little drama starter so you could inform everyone and get off your chest why you dont join.....in hopes it just sits there and dies? Yeah ok. Every year there is one or two gifts that fail to meet the rules and in the spirit of the event, yes, the person who gets those gifts does not complain about it while everyone does it for them.

I feel conflicted because on one hand, it's a free world and anyone can come in here and comment but on the other hand, why would anyone who is not participating in this come in here and comment? You got me in a box on this.

The one saying the world we live in chimes in with a full paragraph to keep it going, and yes somebody did ask why I never join the secret santa and that is why I replied. If you didn’t choose to only show my 2 replies and not the one in between that I was answering that was you trying to start drama not me. My mistake was in not answering the person who asked through a pm. Another member told me don’t be afraid to post’the board isn’t as fragile as you think, well now I know it is in some instances. Now even if I wanted to go back and delete my original post it wouldn’t matter now would it.

Maybe because it's somewhat ironic that these gift exchanges have itrader requirements for participation yet inevitably gifts show up that are obviously subpar? Could it be that people are reading too much into a member's itrader rating or lack thereof? I don't trade cards in BO but I can read instructions and would never send garbage to anyone as a gift.

I appreciate where you are coming from and your reasoning, somebody did ask my why I never joined the secret Santa and I should’ve just answered them through pm instead of airing it out here and that is my fault. Sorry to you and Hickso. Enjoy Christmas guys and I would ask the mods to delete anything I wrote in this thread but it’s been quoted too many times. There is a time and place and obviously this wasn’t it.
