Steven Gerrard linked with the Poland job.
Talk about weird. Talk about another managerial fraud. |

Long version: I think the ref was within his rights to give the goal. For me, Akanji doesn't make enough of an attempt to go for the ball or at least challenge Rashford to deem Rashford interfering with play. The bar for interfering with play is slightly higher than we see it, distracting isn't enough (aside from the goalkeeper), and there has to be physical interference either through hampering Akanji or touching the ball.
short version: Howard Webb is the new head of the PGMOL

.. and of course, anything that sees Man City drop further behind the gooners, the better, eh?

Watched football for over 40 years, that equaliser for Man Utd been allowed is right up there with the worst decisions have ever seen in that period. Rashford is through on goal running with the ball inches from his feet, Ederson is positioning himself based on Rashford, it’s clearly affecting the play. What next?, step overs are fine as long as you don’t touch it you are not offside?..

Impressive performance from Barca today. Nice to see Frenkie de Jong starting to play at the level expected.

I'm still shaking my head at the Rashford incident.
Genuinely one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in 40+ years of football. |

Once a cheat, always a cheat. Their history is stained and pretty much everything they have ever won should be questioned. Teams / Set-up's like theirs should be thrown out of professional football.
If they didn't have such close ties with Fiat perhaps it would be different.. |

The Juventus scandal could have a ruinous effect on Italian football.
The TV deal will shrink, investors will be put off and the whole of Serie A is likely to suffer. This is terrible and yet not surprising. https://theathletic.com/4112649/2023...cted-paratici/ |

Great win for Arsenal today. Gabriel Jesus may find it hard to reclaim his spot with Nketia's form and movement. Rashford continues his streak also - man did the World Cup do wonders for his confidence

He's gone. The club is in a very bad way currently. And just look how much they've paid out to sacked managers the past several years!
Utterly poor mismanagement for years, and very bleak times on the blue side of the city. You'd think it will be tough to get someone with any sort of quality track record in unless their is a clear agreement on authority and spending plans by the manager with club ownership. I haven't paid much attention to who is rumored at the moment but saw Sean Dyche as favorite plus Duncan Ferguson, Rooney, Sarri, Bielsa on the radar. I wonder if the in-house option of Big Dunc ends up being the best answer right now, permanently instead of caretaker this time. At least you'd have someone with credibility and loyalty to the club, but surely ownership would find a way to screw it up. |

They can rule out Bielsa, unless they get a caretaker for the rest of the season. He likes having a pre-season to work with players. One of the reasons he didn't continue with talks with Bournemouth.
Everton are in an absolute mess. If they go down it could be catastrophic. |

Newcastle survived going down several times under Mike Ashley, as have West Ham and Aston Villa. It all really depends on what happens that first season in the Championship. Newcastle bounced back up right away as Champions both times, and West Ham came back up right away through the playoffs. Only Aston Villa spent more than one season in the Championship. And of course, there's your club, Leeds, for whom relegation did turn out to be catastrophic, as has also been the case for clubs like Sunderland and Portsmouth. |

Who knows what Mudryk becomes, but that kid is absolutely electric. Hadn't ever even heard of him before his transfer. Just redeemed all of my rewards points on Topps to pick up 80 of his Topps Now Chelsea RC @ $1.10 a pop delivered. Here's hoping for a low PR and a great career!

very good with the ball. And if he'll dribble and take on players like he did vs. Liverpool, he adds something to Chelsea's attack that isnt currently there. Very early days though.
Still, pretty good performance given he hasnt played since like November. Lets see how he holds up to the physicality of the Premier League though. |
