If you have opened flagship jumbo before, you'd know that that was a solid case. I'd be happy.

Will be getting my 1 box of jumbo and hobby today. Can't stand that there's no regular sps and ssps.

Its not a conspiracy when we have proof of it happening every release.

If BO does not have more Jumbos posted at a higher price in the next day or two, I will apologize and take back what I said.

Its the "Fanatics is loading cases for breakers" crowd that offers no proof and even thought things like Topps Ripped was going to be a special site for breakers, which was also wrong.

I'll say just for my personal experience and my buying dollar, they blew it with me.

opened 3 hobby boxes. Really missed the SPs. Don't think I hit any Golden Mirrors - I assume these would have been backwards, though for some weird reason only foil cards appeared backwards in my boxes. Naturally I'm not familiar with the pictures of all 330 base cards to easily notice if one looks different.

Whatever better odds parallels had in hobby I didn't feel. Maybe it's because of the S1 to S1 comparison and I've since opened better S2 and Update, but I did feel like my S1 last year yielded more parallels. I know I went through 75% of the first box before I hit any at all.

I also feel like there are fewer inserts? Half of my packs, at least, had to have nothing but base in them, which was far more than S1 last year, where I remembered knowing around 8 packs per hobby box were base. It got to the point where I felt like I was back in the 90s, where hitting an insert was a pleasant surprise - and I generally don't care about inserts (I have a soft spot for the 88 topps, and the Aces cards were pretty stunningly nice to my surprise. Welcome to the Club and one two punch were both suck fests).

So the individual packs seemed to have long odds to have anything worth getting excited about. I love base, always have - my 3 boxes got me 2 copies of every base card, so it satisfied that basic need.

Jumbos are already inflated price wise, so I'm not going to jump in that game.

I was unimpressed with Hobby Boxes
And SPs, THOSE were always a lot of fun, and seemed attainable, and now they just aren't.

So my S1 buying is done. And I was someone who regularly wasted money at retail just on impulse. I actually instructed family who would occasionally surprise me with something NOT to do it this year. Total waste of money.

I write this totally as a how I'm feeling portion of it. The actual parallels I hit weren't bad in and of themselves. Topps thought I had a Yu Darvish rainbow fetish, and he's hardly the worst player to get them of. But they were so few and far between, even the foil ones, that the gamble isn't enticing in any way.

Maybe others are going to go gaga over these, and the mirror hunt is going to explode the hobby or something, but I'm out until S2 where I'll buy 2 boxes instead of 3 to get my base and be out again unless something changes.

(and if Jordan Walker is in Update I will spend the equivalent of the GNP of Equador)

The truth is they get more from the distributor who raises the price on them or they get it through secondary markets. To say they have a few pallets in the back room and are jacking it up on a whim would require actual proof.

The poster I replied said they were sold out. This implies no more can be bought.

I'm saying there will be more, at a higher price. Like the poster said he was seeing elsewhere in the market.

It's always been that way though where they usually put up small lots at a time and once that lot is sold through they look at the market and adjust accordingly. Absolutely nothing wrong with that matter of fact it's a smart business move IMO. Why on earth would you continue to sell something at the original price point if the market has dictated it should sell for 1/4 or 1/2 more ? And don't give me the old sad sob story about greed and what have you because 99% of people that rip this stuff do the same exact thing. Do you think just because someone pulled a 2011 Topps Update Trout that sold for like $10 in 2011 should sell it for $10 today ?

Exactly, its not going to be "sold out" for long. Its not a conspiracy, its a proven way of doing business here.

People who want to buy Jumbos will certainly have more chances and probably won't need to wait long.

I watched a case of hobby opened. The foils and color were backward, but the SSPs were not. You’ve either got to notice the gold Topps logo, or notice the gold back of the card.

cheapest I've seen and there are still a couple others at $165. Most of your big online guys are at $199 now if they have any. I feel it's going to be easier to find single boxes at this point vs. sealed cases because the genie is out of the bottle.
