Wow that’s nice. If I found that (orange label) I’d go buy a lottery ticket after Not sure you would ever see that in a store for retail price

Not a bourbon, but I cracked the seal on my xmas gift. My wife overheard me giving recommendations to my dad for a good whiskey. It is good, but I was expecting more. Drinking Islay Scotch makes normal whiskey less interesting to me these days.

Has anyone seen Stagg (Stagg Jr. 18) out in the wild yet? Maybe it's just VA... but it seems like we lag other states sometimes in the distribution heirarchy?

I actually saw a bottle of 10 year old Rip Van Winkle in the wild. Just sitting on the shelf at the liquor store by my office. Alas, I didn't buy it, because I can't really swing the $1,000 price tag.

I don't blame you at all, as much as I like bourbon, I don't think any of them are worth a $1000. It would be nice to try any of the Van Winkles but I highly bout I would feel good about my purchase after taking a sip. Im sure they are great bourbons but not that Great.

In my experience, the return on whiskey diminishes drastically above the $200 mark. There are few exceptions, and Pappy ain't one of them. No whiskey is "worth" $1000.

I agree. Its more about just having the bottle in your collection at that point. I've been lucky enough to get a reasonably priced tasted of a couple of different Van Winkles in the past, and it's quite good. But it's not "worth" the price tag.

Larceny BP is great for the value, even on the secondary market IMO. I enjoyed batch A122, haven’t opened any of the others from last year yet.

Rut roh ... for $31 yours is definitely the regular Larceny and not the barrel proof (BP). Yeah, it's not good. 😞

My opinion is that A 122 was very good but the C batch last year was some next level stuff, definitely pick up a couple if you come across some.

Picked these 2 up the past week. I picked up the Tin Cup because its aged 14yr MGP sourced bourbon. So I figure for $65 for MGP why not. Ill try it out eventually.

Then I found this Remus Repeal Reserve #6 out in the wild as well.
