PSA quoting PSA/DNA comps for up charges for a single service PSA card. That’s a new low lol

Order Type: CC Special Non-Sport $15
# of Cards: 20 all 2008 Non-Sport Album Stickers

Mailed to PSA: 2/27/2023
Received per USPS: 2/28/23
Received per PSA/Entered: 3/7/23
Research: 3/7/23

QA2: 3/20/23
Grades: 3/22/23

4 10s
14 9s
2 8s

I should be more upset with a 20% gem rate but the four 10s were four that really mattered. These are extremely condition sensitive stickers so I can't be too bothered by the 9s.

Order Type: CC Special Vintage $15
# of Cards: 15 - all 1989 Topps / OPC Non-Sports

3 10s

Another 20% gem rate. Tough set but nice to get 9s on the O-Pee-Chees.

Wonder if the NJ or CA location is grading tougher than the other

Kinda bummed how the time gap has increased just since January for the Arrived to Entered/R&ID. Seems like a solid week wait now just for them to open the box. Wasn't like that just a few months ago. Service Level = Value Plus.

Another submission return with disappointing quality control. One card had a thumbprint right on the front, another was graded a 7 and when I cracked it out noticed the right edge had been pinched when slabbing, and then this one with a booger/crumb inside. It took all of 1/2 a second to spot the crumb. This batch had a lot of poor quality plastic as well with the tiny opaque squares on several slabs. Still convinced little to no quality assurance is taking place.

The QA steps are basically just pop control, where they downgrade whatever card they feel like and then upcharge you based on old comps.

Sorry to hear about the submission QC, but until there is a mass exodus from PSA things will not change. It continue to be the king and this is definitely the only industry that the leader can have sloppy QC and CS and keep the number one position.

This can't really be happening, can it? I see all the horrible stories about seemingly endless cards being damaged and under-graded and downgraded and also being slabbed with very obvious particles and smudges in the slabs. What the hell has happened to this company? I'm not promoting the idea of over-grading collectors cards, but if on the fence, why in the world not just give the 10? And why in the world downgrade?? 10s sell for more, duh. Collectors then buy more cards and then grade more, duh. The whole hobby benefits. I just don't get what's going on.

Ive seen countless times where someone has the PSA picture of the card as PSA 10, but then they get the card back and its PSA 7 or unslabbed as mingrade or minsize or something. I dont get why PSA does what they do, but they do. And the Rev is right, as long as people sign up to send them a million cards a month, they can rip up half the cards and just laugh to the bank.

Its amazing isnt it? Topps and Panini CS and QC have gone straight into the toilet and people line up to empty their wallets for the product. Same with PSA, as long as people think they can make a few bucks off the product, they will tolerate a lot of shenanigans.

I feel bad for everyone. I have not had the experience others have had. My gem rate dropped, and occasionally I disagree with a grade but PSA has still been great for me.

Was sleeving another order tonight and found this gross addition inside a slab. First time I've had that one, ugh.

Anyone think q2 April 1st will have a 15 dollar modern special?
I'd be happy even with 17 dollars if the minimum was 10....20 minimum is a lot for some collectors to take advantage of the lower rates

I am thinking about setting up a test and send in 2 smaller orders and have one go straight to the vault and the other sent back to me.....with same cards and see what GEM rate is.

Not quite sure if this was addressed here, or elsewhere, but with PSA having pictures associated with the certification number, if a serial numbered card is cracked out and resubmitted, will PSA do their research and just give it the same grade? Or will they review it and potentially provide a higher grade?

Pretty sure they wont check on the serial number. Unless its something significant like a Jordan /23.

Same. Since summer, I've had two orders that I thought were legit grader of death orders. One of them was the only order I've received from NJ. Still just an n of 1, though. Luckily, both orders were small.

Is it normal for cards to disappear in the QA2 process. I know this happens after they give you the grades and before shipping, but never saw any grades and no list of cards for about 5 days.

Yes, that is normal. The cards disappear before you are charged and grades are released. They could pop at any time now. Sometimes it is less than a day, sometimes it can be a week or two.

Does anyone know if they update the tracker on weekends? Was thinking about it and don't think I have ever seen my submissions move on a Saturday or Sunday.

Wednesday marks 65 days that PSA has had a 64 card vintage sub. Most of those 65 days it has been stuck in grading phase. It is worth calling and asking what’s going on. Or is that pointless?
