Great to see! Have not lost hope that he can regain some of his 2021 form.

64 ESPN Game Score today...big improvement over his first 2 starts (43,47).

In other hopeful Marlins news today:

https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/baseba.../sixto-sanchez

This thread would only improve with Sixto back in the mix.

Ashcraft didn’t have his best stuff today, yet he still managed to go 6 scoreless against a tough Phillies lineup. Guy is just a bulldog on the mound

Let's see how Reid Detmers does tomorrow. He is pitching against a Mickey Mouse team. If he can't dominate the Red Sox, then I don't know what with Detmers.

He’s had a couple tough matchups so far
At Seattle
Vs Toronto
Tomorrow is a bit easier but still on the road against the 6th highest run scoring team in MLB so far this year. I believe in him and think we’ll see his overall numbers drastically improve when the matchups let up a bit.

I believe in him as well but he needs to prove himself against big teams. I don't want him to beat Oakland and the Royals all the time but then lose to Houston, NY, Dodgers, etc

He’s young(23).He’s learning how to harness his improving stuff. You hope to dominate the good matchups and not explode in the tough ones I think.

Detmers is young. Young pitchers dominate. He needs to dominate the tough teams. He is truly the Angels #2 starter, not their #4.

Here's an updated Game Score Leaderboard for most of the top young arms this past week.

ESPN GAME SCORE LEADERBOARD
(25 or younger as of Opening Day)

https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/daily.../type/pitching
Formula: ESPN* 50 + 1*Outs + 2*IP after the 4th + 1*K - 2*H - 4*ER - 2*UnearnedRuns - 1*BB

Overall leaderboard through April 15th.

While far from a complete list, it does capture most of the top 25 and under names on this thread, plus a handful of others.

Okay, maybe it’s time to start worrying about Manoah at least a little…

Angels in full desperation mode and the season just started. I hope it works out. It’s a shame that this is probably the last season we get Ohtani in Orange County. The minute I saw Moreno decided not to sell, I knew it was saying goodbye to Ohtani. The Angels really need some solid bullpen arms but that ship sailed. It’s all trial and error now. Perry leaves something to be desired as well. Rendon looks like he’s hurt. Drury is going to hit .190 but has got some pop. That play with him at first spacing out kinda sums it up. Hopefully Neto provides a spark. I could go on but it’s the same old stuff just different names except Arte. The Angels really need a change of ownership and philosophy. It would breathe some fresh air into Anaheim. Maybe some feel differently?

Very nice outing. Hopefully they can get him off the hook in the 9th.
Cole is shoving
Gallen was dominant

I had to snap a picture this afternoon of these 3 together. I know I have showed them individually but it was great to see all 3 pitch well today.
